The United States Eventing Association’s (USEA) Area V of Texas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, and Arkansas kicked off its 2023 season of USEA-recognized horse trials with the Texas Rose Horse Park H.T. in Tyler, Texas, on March 24-26. Several area riders returned home after spending the winter in other eventing hubs. These riders are making an impact on the national stage and showcasing the dedication Area V has to the sport of eventing, as well as the camaraderie among its riders.

The Willow Draw Charity Horse Trials, located in Weatherford, Texas (Area V) is held twice yearly as a one-day event in May and October and offers Starter through Training levels.
The Willow Draw Charity Show, scheduled to run on Saturday, May 25, has been forced to cancel due to heavy rainfall in the northern region of Texas.
Saturday, November 5th was the second USEA-recognized charity horse trials at Willow Draw in Weatherford, Texas. Owners and organizers Tre’ and Janet Book donated $10,000 of proceeds to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, an internationally famous organization specializing in treating and studying life-threatening childhood cancer and other diseases.

Saturday, May 28, 2016, many eventers in North Texas made a familiar drive to Tre’ and Janet Book’s Willow Draw.
Willow Draw’s first USEA recognized horse trials on May 28th, the Willow Draw Charity Horse Show, expects to donate over $10,000 to the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund. Carsten Meyer has designed an inviting cross-country course to welcome eventers for levels Starter through Training.
