It is championship season and Area VI held their annual Area Championships on Saturday, September 11 at Copper Meadows. Championships classes were offered at the Beginner Novice, Novice, Training, and Preliminary level. Following the weekend's battle royale, we caught up with the riders who rose to the top to gather their thoughts!

Copper Meadows Eventing will host their 2nd annual Fundraising event June 5-6, 2021. The Copper Meadows Fundraiser was a great success in 2019, and we look forward to an even bigger event this summer. All funds raised to go improvements to our facilities, cross-country course, and both our recognized and unrecognized events: 2019 funds allowed for Copper to add footing to our main dressage competition arena, as well as the warmup, and we added a bank to our show jumping warm-up arena to benefit our derbies! Join us with an All-Inclusive weekend pass, which gets riders access to unlimited judged dressage tests, show jumping rounds, and cross-country schooling, as well as a dinner on June 5th with an impressive silent auction and live raffle.

This year, the Area VI Championships took place on a sweltering weekend in Ramona, California at the Copper Meadows Horse Trials. In order to qualify to compete in the Area VI Championships in 2020, riders had to earn two MERs at the level at an event in Area VI during the qualifying period from August 1, 2019 to August 18, 2020.

The Copper Meadows Horse Trials scheduled for March 13-15, 2020 in Ramona, California has been canceled due to heavy rainfall.

In 1999, Taren Hoffos’ parents, Robin and Carolyn Hoffos, purchased a 70-acre property on the outskirts of Ramona, California. Over the next year, the Hoffos worked tirelessly to add everything the property would need to host an event, including infrastructure, arenas, and, most importantly, a cross-country course.
