PLYMOUTH, Mass. (July 27, 2011) – SmartPak announced today that they are launching everyday free shipping on all orders over $75. This move makes SmartPak the only equine e-commerce retailer to offer a full selection of tack, equipment and supplies shipped for free regardless of weight.
“When we say ‘free,’ we mean it,” said Donnie Steele, senior director of marketing at SmartPak. “There are no asterisks, fine print or codes to worry about. Whether it’s a single pair of breeches or a saddle, a tack trunk and two 50 pound supplement buckets, all orders over $75 ship free, automatically, every day.”
SmartPak CEO Paal Gisholt said, “The move to free shipping is a key part of our efforts to create the ultimate equine shopping experience, but it’s only part of the story. It starts with having great product. We’re very proud of the vast selection of clothing and tack that we’ve added to our offering in recent years, with many items you won’t find anywhere else. We then wrap those products in a service experience that is second to none, ship them quickly, and stand behind them with our 100% Happiness Guarantee. The fact that it all ships free is icing on the cake.”
“It’s about respect for our customers,” continued Steele. “That includes respect for their time, their intelligence and their wallets. Customers shouldn’t have to be surprised by a hefty shipping charge at checkout or waste time hunting for free shipping codes.”
The new everyday free shipping program is now the second way SmartPak customers can ship their orders for free. Since January, the company has offered free shipping on SmartPaks, the custom-packed, daily dose supplements. That feature, which offers free shipping on all orders containing a SmartPak in excess of $40, has proven very popular and remains in place.
“We’re excited to have everyday free shipping available for our customers as we head into the fall,” concluded Steele. “Saving on shipping means riders can spend their money where it counts. With new fall fashions and holiday shopping just around the corner, there will be plenty to choose from!”

The horses in trainer Joe Davis’ barn at Horseshoe Indianapolis don’t just get standard hay in their nets each day. Throughout the afternoon, Davis or one of his employees opens the HayGain machine that sits at the end of his shed row and pulls out a warm, beautiful-smelling bale of freshly-steamed hay to fill their nets.
