Good morning on the last day from Bromont. Many people were in the barns until late last night icing, then re-icing, in order to pass the jog this morning. Horses that looked a bit questionable last night trotted down the jog lane with no problems this morning, thanks to some excellent care. I was very fortunate that Fric was feeling good all on his own and even had some spunk coming down the lane. www.stockimageservices.com photo.
Going into this afternoon, the Stadium will be a challenge. The one-star already looks to be pretty big, which means by the time this afternoon rolls around, Kim Severson will have her work cut out for her on the big grey gelding “Paddy” to maintain her lead, and I will have to pull together a good ride to achieve my qualifying goal.

I have asked special permission to ride first in the three-star so that I can make my flight home to be at work bright and early tomorrow morning. This means I will not be able to watch any rounds before heading in, so I will have to ride smart, and hope Fric is up to the challenge.
We need four rails or less to complete our qualifier for Rolex, and since you never know what can happen, I hope the stars are aligned in our favor this afternoon in Canada. I have packed everything up, and will be leaving my truck at the airport for my good friend Keeley, who has made this trip possible for me by coming out to ride home with Fric. Without the support of the amazing people I have behind me, I would be unable to continue pursuing my dream with my long-time partner.
I want to thank everyone who supports and believes in me, and especially those who help make all of this fun and excitement possible. Bromont is such a beautiful event, and I hope more people are able to experience this terrain. I can honestly say I have had more fun this week, than I have at any other show in a very long time. The barns were extremely entertaining, the people were great, and the event was wonderful. I was even able to practice some French.
I will be keeping my fingers crossed that all goes well today in stadium, and that I make my flight back to California to get back in time for work in the morning. Safe travels home to everyone here, especially those with a long road ahead.
Signing out from Bromont.
-Frankie
Editor’s note: Frankie and Fric caught only a single rail in their stadium round. Final results will be available here: http://www.bromont3dayevent.com/results.htm
