Ride the Pace Program Builds Momentum with Hands-On Workouts, Online Reach, and Upcoming Millbrook Sessions

TEAPRO Grant-Supported Initiative Engages Riders Across the Region to Develop Precision Pacing Skills
The Ride the Pace program is gaining significant traction as a growing resource for equestrian competitors looking to sharpen their pace judgment and ride the critical 400-meter-per-minute standard with confidence. Supported by the USEA Foundation's TEAPRO grant, and sponsored by Strider, the program combines in-person practice sessions with digital content to reach riders wherever they are.
To date, the program has hosted an unmounted educational session, now recorded and available on the Ride the Pace YouTube channel, allowing riders to access foundational instruction on their own schedule. That content alone has already been viewed by more than 200 people—a milestone that reflects strong enthusiasm and growing awareness across the equestrian community.
On the ground, Ride the Pace has completed three practice workout sessions at Frazier Farm in Woodbury, Connecticut, giving participants the opportunity to experience riding measured distances at pace in a structured, supportive environment. These sessions have been central to the program’s mission: encouraging riders to set up 400-meter courses at home and practice completing that distance in one minute.
Looking ahead, two additional sessions are planned for June 12 and 19 in Millbrook, New York, in collaboration with Booli Selmayr. These upcoming clinics will continue building on the program’s hands-on approach and offer new participants an opportunity to join the growing community of riders working toward pacing precision.
“We’re not just tracking participation—we’re tracking reach,” said Rachel Medbery. “Every view, every session, every rider who goes home and sets up 400 meters in their field is a win. The goal is to build the motivation and muscle memory so that pacing becomes second nature.”
The TEAPRO grant has been instrumental in making these sessions and resources possible, enabling the program to expand its footprint both in-person and online.
