Eventing began today at the 2010 Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky, with 82 riders presenting their perfectly turned out mounts for the multi-national ground jury. While Kim Severson’s Tipperary Liadhnan was withdrawn before the trot up due to a case cellulitis, the five remaining U.S. horse and rider combinations passed, and Karen O’Connor and Mandiba were selected to take Severson’s place in team competition. With three horses from this morning’s jog up held for reinspection, Mexico’s Escipion Mendivil and Azteca were unfortunately the only pair not to pass. Josh Walker photos.
