Giant Win for Jumbo's Jake and James Alliston at Twin Rivers

In the heat of the moment—literally and figuratively—James Alliston and Jumbo’s Jake rose to the occasion to post a double-clear show jumping round to maintain their lead in the USEA Adequan Gold Cup Series Advanced division at final day of competition at Twin Rivers Horse Trials in Paso Robles, California.
India McEvoy’s bay gelding, sired by the well-known stallion Jumbo (who is also the sire of Headley Britannia), made things look easy as he sailed over all 13 jumping efforts. Alliston credited the horse's owner and regular rider for Jake's success and said, “I would like to thank India for everything and for letting me ride this great horse.”
James was extremely pleased with the 12-year-old Irish Sport Horse gelding's performance this weekend. “He is a really careful jumper as long as I do the right thing. I thought he had a nice rhythmic round today, and am looking forward to the CCI3* at Galway,” he said. The pair added only a few cross-country time penalties to their dressage score to secure the blue.
Debbie Rosen also had a remarkable showing this weekend to take home the red ribbon for second. She is also looking forward to competing at Galway Downs this November saying, “ I can’t wait to be part of history in the making, as we compete at the first CCI3* ever held on the west coast.”
Rosen and The Alchemyst, affectionately known as “Al,” added just one rail to their score in stadium jumping. “This was an awesome weekend. I had the best time!” she explained. “My horse is mad at me for how I rode that last line, which resulted in our rail, but I think by Galway he will be over it.”
Many of the riders competing this weekend will square off against one another November 5-7 at the Galway Downs CCI3* in Temecula CA. With over $20,000.00 in prize money up for grabs, top horses and riders will bring their best to earn the spoils, accolades, and make history by winning the first ever CCI3* west of the Mississippi.
The Adequan USEA Gold Cup Series is made possible through the support of its many sponsors: Title: Adequan; Legacy: Nunn Finer and Nutrena, and Patron: Broadstone Equine Insurance Agency, Mountain Horse, and Succeed. Winners of the CIC3*, the designated "Gold Cup division," will take home $500 in prize money, 7-dose box of Adequan, a three-month supply of SUCCEED, and a pair of Nunn Finer American Style open front boots. Second place finishers take home a Nutrena feed gift certificate and a pair of Nunn Finer American Style open front boots, and third place receives a pair of the Nunn Finer boots as well.
