
- The funeral of Phillip Lende will be held on Saturday, August 22, 4PM at the Grace Episcopal Church in The Plains, VA. There will also be a Memorial Celebration of Life in late September or October on the O’Connors farm. Everyone is welcome to either event.

- A massive 85 horses started in the Gatcombe CIC3*W which incorporated the Open British Eventing Championship. Last year’s winner Ruth Edge defended her title aboard Two Thyme. Ruth now joins an elite group of four who have won the British Championship three times, Mary King, Mark Todd and William Fox-Pitt.
- Ian Stark has expressed his thanks for the good wishes he has received since being taken ill 10 days ago. Ian was yesterday transferred from Cardiff to Borders General Hospital in Melrose, to allow him to recover from a brain bleed closer to home.
