By Bates Saddles - Edited Press Release

Be As One

…the secret to ignite your dressage performance.

Discover a position so natural and a connection so sensitive your saddle all but disappears as your performance comes to life.

The artistry…

This saddle celebrates the art of dressage – the sculpted performance conducted by horse and rider in choreographing every movement with emotion, power, and grace.

The perfect fit…

Achieve the perfect fit for your horse and generate a power and depth of expression that you have never have felt before.

The stability…

Find stability with perfect balance that will grant you a stillness, an independence of seat and a lightness of hand and leg that will allow you to dance across your stage with ease.

The connection…

Feel ultimate sensitivity, driving a connection that enables the subtlest finesse in your aids as you take the spotlight in the main arena.

Ride with Effortless Balance

SweetSpot

The SweetSpot in the seat guides you to neutral, where you feel your pelvic bones squarely and contact is closest. This allows for a longer leg, perfect alignment, and support for your upper body balance.

SynergyPanel

A low profile panel in dressage is revolutionary. This panel achieves a quick and seamless transition from your seat to your horse for unprecedented connection. The Bates SynergyPanel is the ultimate for freeing your horse to perform to their full potential. It is simply the most shock absorbent and protective panel for your horse’s comfort and full range of movement.

Monoflap

When it comes to communication, the monoflap design enables the saddle to disappear, so you feel your horse as never before. The unique shaping of the saddle flap allows your aids to transmit to your horse cleanly and directly.

The Magic is in the Details

Moveable FlexiContourbloc

Enjoy unprecedented support to stabilize your leg and eliminate lift, with a contour that flows through the full length of the bloc. It is the quiet interaction of this FlexiContourbloc in riding that is like no other and has to be ridden in to experience its power.

Adjustable Ergonomic Stirrup Bar

The Adjustable Ergonomic Stirrup Bar further ensures maintaining perfect balance and strength is effortless, as the saddle is customized specifically to your individual riding position.

Luxe Leather

Simply the perfect riding surface with its luxurious and tactile grip. When it comes to leather there isn’t any finer!

Alliston’s Busy Weekend, Braitling’s Reuniting with Five-Star Mount, & Kalkman’s Advanced Victory Highlight Twin Rivers Summer H.T.

As he was finishing tacking up his horse in preparation to navigate the cross-country course at the 2024 Twin Rivers Summer Horse Trials, James Alliston expressed concern about navigating the 101 Freeway. That’s because as soon as he crossed the finish line aboard Intermediate level winner Addyson (Ampere x Nickerbocker) at 10:38 a.m. on Saturday—his fifth cross-country round of the morning with three at Preliminary and two at Intermediate—the West Coast-based five-star rider had to drive 185 miles on the 101 Freeway from Twin Rivers Ranch in Paso Robles, California, to San Francisco International Airport to catch a 4:35 p.m. flight to Frankfurt, Germany.
