United States Eventing Association

Since 1999, more than 50 horses and people have been inducted into the United States Eventing Association (USEA) Eventing Hall of Fame.

Induction into the Hall of Fame is the highest honor awarded within the sport of eventing in the United States. Those invited to join the Hall of Fame have truly made a difference in the sport of eventing. Hall of Fame members have included past Association presidents, volunteers, riders, founding fathers, course designers, officials, organizers, horses, horse owners, and coaches.

Those chosen will be honored at a formal induction ceremony at the Hall of Fame Gala at the 2026 USEA Annual Meeting & Convention, held in Arlington, Virginia, from Dec. 11-13. The Hall of Fame Gala is held every four years at Convention.

The final invitation to join the USEA's Eventing Hall of Fame Class of 2026 has been officially extended to Brian and Penny Ross, whose decades of dedication to the sport as officials, organizers, educators, and mentors have helped shape eventing in the United States. They were notified of their invitation at a special ceremony that took place alongside the Virginia Horse Center Eventing Fall H.T.

Brian Ross is internationally respected for his more than 35 years of experience as an eventing judge, having officiated at some of the sport's most prestigious competitions, including the Olympic Games, the FEI World Equestrian Games, and the five-star events at Badminton, Burghley, and Kentucky. His extensive knowledge of the sport and commitment to fair competition have made him a respected figure among riders and officials around the world.

Penny Ross has been equally influential in the development of eventing competitions across the United States. As an organizer and advocate for the sport, she has helped establish and grow competitions including Fort Bragg and Surefire Horse Trials, while also contributing to the development of Virginia Horse Trials as a premier competition venue. Her leadership has extended beyond the competition grounds through her service on the USEA Board of Governors and national and Area II organizers' committees.

Together, the Rosses have dedicated countless hours to creating opportunities for riders and horses at every level of the sport. Through their work organizing competitions and schooling events, educating participants, and mentoring the next generation of eventing enthusiasts, they have helped foster a welcoming and supportive community. Their shared commitment to the growth and accessibility of eventing has left a lasting impact on the sport and those who participate in it.

Brian and Penny Ross complete the USEA's Eventing Hall of Fame Class of 2026, joining an esteemed group of individuals and horses whose contributions have helped shape the history and future of eventing in the United States.
