At the end of an exciting weekend at Aspen Farms Horse Trials, Karen O'Neal and Clooney 14, a 10-year-old Westphalian gelding owned by Annika Asling, sealed the win in the inaugural CCI4*-S. They started the division in the lead with a dressage score of 35.0, but then dropped to second after show jumping on Saturday due to one rail.

A big crowd gathered at Aspen Farms Horse Trials Saturday afternoon to watch the inaugural CCI4*-S division take on the show jumping track designed by Chris Barnard. Supporters, sponsors, competitors, and visitors enjoyed watching FEI show jumping during a 4-Star Reception with catered food and beverages, sponsored by Southern California Equestrian Sports.

Aspen Farms Horse Trials started with a full day of dressage competition on Friday under fair skies. More than 300 competitors from throughout Area VII and beyond are competing this weekend, and five horse/rider combinations entered Aspen Farms' inaugural CCI4*-S—the first ever offered in the state of Washington.

Aspen Farms in Yelm, Washington, served as the beautiful backdrop for this year’s USEA Area VII Championships. In total, there were 11 championship divisions offered from the Beginner Novice level through Intermediate, in addition to the event’s regular horse trial divisions. Sophie Click and her 9-year-old Oldenburg gelding Tarantino 54 (Quattro B x Los Argentina) held onto their lead through Sunday's cross-country portion of competition, coming off of their winning show jump round Saturday, June 11, to take the overall victory in the CCI3*-S at Aspen Farms Horse Trials in Yelm, Washington.

Sophie Click and her 9-year-old Oldenburg gelding Tarantino 54 (Quattro B x Los Argentina) delivered a double clear show jump round in the Tack Room Too Arena at Aspen Farms Horse Trials in Yelm, Washington to move from second to first in the CCI3*-S.

As a rainy dressage day one drew to a close at Aspen Farms Horse Trails in Yelm, WA, Tommy Greengard and his 8-year-old Dutch Warmblood gelding, Joshuay MBF (Foreign Affair x Fernacchy MBF), lead the CCI3*-S on a score of 27.

With the support of excellent show sponsors, Aspen Farms in Yelm, WA awarded over $25,000 worth of prizes to the top finishers at Aspen Farms Horse Trials and the FEI CCI3*-Short and CCI2*-Short on June 13, 2021.

“Overall everything went smoothly,” said Show Organizer Jonathan Elliott. “I think the cross-country courses rode quite well. There were some tough questions out there, but people rode them well. It was a great show.”

Yesterday Aspen Farms in Yelm, WA welcomed three hundred and thirty horse and rider combinations to the first horse trials they have hosted since September 2019, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The show, running today through Sunday, is hosting United States Eventing Association (USEA) horse trials divisions from Beginner Novice through Intermediate as well as FEI CCI2*–Short and CCI3*-Short divisions and the Adequan®/USEF Eventing Youth Team Challenge.

Despite a difficult show jumping phase, there was no change in the overnight standings in the Adequan USEA Gold Cup Advanced division at Aspen Farms Horse Trials in Yelm, Wash. Mary Burke and Prince William took two rails to finish first on a score of 38.4, earning their second consecutive Adequan Gold Cup win at Aspen Farms.
