The 20th annual USDF & USEA Adult Education Camp is being held Monday, June 8th, through Friday, June 13th, at the Green Mountain Horse Association (GMHA) in Woodstock, VT.
This camp provides a wonderful educational riding experience. This is my 5th year and I have to say I was hooked from day 1. It is held in one of the most beautiful areas in Woodstock, VT. GMHA is an amazing place tailored towards all disciplines of riding. The facility is now undergoing major renovations due to a successful Capital Campaign. (To find out more about GMHA go to www.gmhainc.org.)
The camp organized by Barbara Marks (who is the most energetic, enthusiastic and fun person I have ever met) gathers together some of the top eventing and dressage instructors in the country.
Michael Page, 3 time Olympian, inducted into the Eventing Hall of Fame. He is a wonderful instructor.
Jane Hamlin, who is a local instructor and eventer and FEI CT judge.
Bobby Costello, a successful Olympian in Eventing.
Jim Koford, who has competed Advanced level in Eventing and Grand Prix Level in Dressage. He also has been chosen to study and compete for 2 months in Frankfurt, Germany with Conrad Schumacher.
Robert Stevenson, gives excellent lessons on improving your jumping.
John Zopatti, USDF Gold Medallist.
Holger Bechtloff, USDF Gold Medallist.
Diane Ritz, FEI Rider and trainer.
The camp offers 2 lessons a day - dressage instructions are private and jumping (whether it is stadium or cross country) has no more than 3 people in a group. If you are only interested in dressage, please note that on your application. There are many lectures and demonstrations offered. Meals are included (breakfast, lunch and dinner). Fee does not include lodging, a list is available of places nearby.
Don't miss this experience of a life time - A chance to ride with top instructors, be in a beautiful setting, meet great people, have fun and most important bond with your horse! (any questions contact Barbara Marks, [email protected])
Great Britain’s Yasmin Ingham and Banzai du Loir found themselves in a familiar position today at the top of the leaderboard after dressage at the Defender Kentucky Three-Day Event, scoring a 26.0. A year ago, Ingham and “Banzai” led the field heading into cross-country after Friday’s dressage, but they drew an earlier start this year, and Ingham’s got a few more challengers to come tomorrow.
In comparison to many of his other upper-level event horses, Commando 3, or “Connor” as he is known in the barn, is still a newer ride for Boyd Martin, but that hasn’t held the pair back.
Are you following along with the action from home this weekend? Or maybe you're competing at an event and need information fast. Either way, we’ve got you covered! Let the fun and games begin! This morning kicks off the official start of competition at the 2024 Defender Kentucky Three-Day Event (K3DE). The hefty four-star field is the first to set foot in the Rolex Stadium starting at 8:00 a.m. Last year we saw 49 four-star pairs in this division, but this year there are 63 pairs in the field.
