Announcing the 2025 USEA Freelance Groom Award
Leesburg, Va.—Oct. 24—The United States Eventing Association (USEA) is proud to announce the launch of the 2025 USEA Freelance Groom Award, a new honor created to celebrate the outstanding contributions of freelance grooms within the sport of eventing.
Behind every successful event horse and rider stands a groom who dedicates countless hours ensuring their charges are healthy, happy, and ready to perform. This award was created to celebrate a freelance groom who has gone above and beyond to help their riders achieve competitive success. Freelance grooms bring a unique value to the eventing community by sharing their expertise across a variety of riders and programs as they travel from event to event. Through their vast experience and dedication these individuals make an enduring impact on the careers of the athletes and the horses they support.
Nominations for the 2025 USEA Freelance Groom Award are now open. Submissions will be accepted through Monday, Nov. 3, and may be sent directly via email to [email protected] or through the USEA Appreciation Awards Nomination Form available here.
The recipient of the 2025 USEA Freelance Groom Award will be selected from the nominations by the USEA Grooms Committee. The winner will be awarded with $3,000 and an engraved memorial trophy.
The USEA extends its sincere gratitude to the Duda Family for generously donating this special award and helping shine a light on the invaluable contributions of freelance grooms across the country.
