The United States Eventing Association (USEA) is excited to announce that the Intercollegiate Eventing Championship will be hosted at the Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC) in Mill Spring, North Carolina, on May 26–28, 2023. The organizers at TIEC look forward to welcoming the Intercollegiate Teams to their state-of-the-art venue this spring for a successful championship event.
Entries for the USEA Intercollegiate Eventing Championship will open April 11 and close on May 9. All Intercollegiate Teams are welcome and encouraged to enter to compete at the 2023 Championship. There are no qualifications necessary to enter, but schools represented must be registered Affiliates of the USEA.
All participants must be enrolled as undergraduate students or be no more than six months past the completion of their undergraduate education, allowing December graduates to compete in the May championship. The USEA will no longer offer the Graduate division at the Intercollegiate Championship due to lack of participation in recent years.
TIEC offers an expansive selection of on-site accommodations, which can be viewed and booked here. For further information on the venue, local accommodations, travel and things to do, view TIEC’s Visitor’s Guide here. Any remaining questions regarding the 2023 USEA Intercollegiate Eventing Championship can be directed to USEA Staff Liaison, Kaleigh Collett, via email at [email protected] or by phone at (703) 669-9994.
The USEA thanks all of the supporters and participants of the USEA Intercollegiate Eventing Program for their dedication and patience as the 2023 championship location was determined. The Association looks forward to celebrating another fantastic year of collegiate competition at Tryon International Equestrian Center on May 26–28!
About the USEA Intercollegiate Eventing Program
The USEA Intercollegiate Eventing Program was established in 2014 to provide a framework within which eventing teams and individual competitors could flourish at universities and colleges across the country. The USEA offers a discount of $25 on annual USEA memberships for current students of universities and colleges registered as Affiliates with the USEA. Many events across the country now offer Intercollegiate Team Challenges where collegiate eventers can compete individually as well as on teams with their fellow students. In Intercollegiate Team Challenges, each rider’s score is multiplied by a coefficient appropriate for their level to account for differences in level difficulty, and then the individual scores are added together to determine the team score. The USEA would like to thank this year's USEA Intercollegiate Eventing Championship Sponsors: Bates Saddles, FITS, Horse & Country, Kerrits, U.S. Equestrian, and World Equestrian Brands.
The United States Eventing Association (USEA) is proud to announce the selected Young Rider athletes for the Emerging Athletes U21 Program (EA21) national camp, now that the EA21 regional clinics have concluded. Twelve riders were accepted into each of the five regional EA21 clinics, taught by USEA Eventing Coaches Program (ECP) instructors, and now riders have been selected from the regional clinics to participate in the EA21 national camp this winter.
The second Young Horse Show Series (YHS) Regional Championship took place on Sunday, October 1st at Haras Hacienda in Magnolia, Texas. Formerly known as the USEA Future Event Horse (FEH) Championships, this year’s qualifiers were run by the YHS, a program established to provide U.S. breeders the opportunity to show off their young stock, as well as connect them to owners, riders, and trainers looking for U.S. bred sport horses in the hunter, jumper, dressage, and now eventing, disciplines.
