In this excerpt from the full educational video, Dorothy Crowell coaches a rider through strategies to create a flexible step at the canter while jumping a course, explaining how the rider's body position and aids from the heel all the way up to the eyes can be used to create adjustability. She discusses the importance of remaining flexible throughout the body to in turn help the horse remain more flexible and therefore adjustable. The horse and rider jump an oxer going both downhill and uphill and Crowell discusses the challenges presented by the terrain for this pair. Click here for the full video.
