The Middleburg HT is adding a Starter(recognized) and Pre-Starter (unrecognized) for the first time. ThePre-Starterdivision will be run identically to the Starter division but is unrecognized and will not be assessed a USEA Starter fee. Pre-Starter will be allowed a reasonable amount of unauthorized assistance such as having their dressage test read to them from someone outside the ring.

Although we are allowing signup for Rider, Horse and Open divisions at some levels, if there are insufficient entries to run some divisions, they will be combined. Please list your preferences on your entry to help us create the divisions.

All entries include a $25 non-refundable office fee. Include printed, legible and current email address on entry. All correspondence from the secretary will be by email.All entrants competing (except Starter and Pre-Starter)must be USEA members. All horses competing (except Starter and Pre-Starter)must have USEA registration number. Modified and Preliminary competitors, include USEF membership numbers for rider, trainer and owner (including farm, syndicate, etc.). Riders and/or owners of horses competing at the Modified and higher level who arenotUSEF members will be required to pay a $45 Show Pass fee online with USEF.(Note: a coach may or may not be a trainer; trainers are the ones who care and feed the horses) All trainers for entries at the Modified and higher levels must be USEF members including entries where the rider and trainer or owner and trainer are the same people.

M&T - includes water complex & ditch. N - includes water complex and ditch. BN - includes water complex. Starter and Pre-Starter - No combinations or sharp turns; if a ditch or water jump there will be an option. Cross-country course closed for schooling before HT. There may be a schooling day but that decision has not yet been made;

The Sharps container will be placed at the Secretary stand which is near the trailer parking. Competition Management may fine any individual up to $100 for improper disposal of needles or other sharp disposable instruments.
SUBCHAPTER EV-9 DRESS
1. PROTECTIVE HEADGEAR.
a. At Federation licensed and endorsed Events, Athletes must wear headgear as follows, except as may otherwise be mandated by local law (see also GR801)
b. Upon arrival, anyone riding a Horse must wear properly fitting protective headgear. The harness must be secured and properly fitted. See GR801.
