Old Tavern is adding a Starter(recognized) and Pre-Starter (unrecognized) for the first time.The<strong>Pre-Starter</strong>division will be run identically to the Starter division but is unrecognized and will not be assessed a USEA Starter fee.Intermediate will not be offered this year.

All entries include a $25 non-refundable office fee. Include printed, legible and current email address on entry. All correspondence from the secretary will be by email.All entrants competing must be USEA members. All horses competing must have USEA registration number. Modified & Preliminary competitors, include USEF membership numbers for rider, trainer and owner (including farm, syndicate, etc.). Riders, trainers, and/or owners of horses competing at the Modified & Preliminary levels who arenotUSEF members will be required to pay $45 Show Pass fee with entry.(Note: a coach may or may not be a trainer; trainers are the ones who care and feed the horses)AND USEF MEMBERS - PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ARE UP TO DATE ON YOUR SAFE SPORT TRAINING. The Starter division is recognized by USEA and will be assessed a starter fee. The Pre-Starter division will be run identically to the Starter division but is unrecognized and will not be assessed a USEA Starter fee; Neither horse nor rider needs to be a member of USEA to compete in these divisions. However, in order to get USEA points and qualify for the AECs the horse and rider must become members of USEA and enter the recognized Starter division. Negative Coggins certificate valid through October 1 2023 required for all horses.Horses without current Coggins on file or in hand will not be allowed on grounds. Reminder: All USEF Life and Senior Active members, as well as participants who have regular contact with minor athletes, are required to comply with the U.S. Center for SafeSport training requirement, to be eligible to participate in the competition. All participants must adhere to the U.S. Center for SafeSport Code, USEF Safe Sport Policy, and the Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policies. On all courses, some obstacles tend toward maximum heights for the level. Forward galloping courses. Well suited for horses with experience at the level. P - includes water complex & coffin. M&T - includes water complex & ditch. N - includes water complex and ditch. BN - includes water complex. Starter - No combinations or sharp turns; if a ditch or water jump there will be an option. Cross-country course closed for schooling before HT.There may be a schooling day run by the Great Meadow Foundation on the Tuesday after the HT. NO CARS OR TRUCKS will be allowed up by competition area during competition - it is .2 mile walk from trailers. SUBCHAPTER EV-9 DRESS 1. PROTECTIVE HEADGEAR. a. At Federation licensed and endorsed Events, Athletes must wear headgear as follows, except as may otherwise be mandated by local law (see also GR801) b. Upon arrival, anyone riding a Horse must wear properly fitting protective headgear. The harness must be secured and properly fitted. See GR801. SHARPS CONTAINER: Competition management is responsible for placing Sharps containers in convenient locations on Competition grounds and replacing them when full. Competition Management may fine any individual up to $100 for improper disposal of needles or other sharp disposable instruments. Competition management will place notice of this requirement either in its prize list or on a specific handout given to trainers on check in at the competition.
