X-C Pinny/Holder/Insert Required. Copy of current negative Coggins within 12 months must accompany entry.
Reminder: All USEF Life and Senior Active members, as well as participants who have regular contact with minor athletes, are required to comply with the U.S. Center for SafeSport training requirement, to be eligible to participate in the competition. All participants must adhere to the U.S. Center for SafeSport Code, USEF Safe Sport Policy, and the Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policies. More information about these can be found at www.usef.org.

Awards:
Prizes and 8 ribbons per division. Cash prize for Open Preliminary Level.
In addition we will be offering two trophies:
-The Golden Nugget Memorial Trophy, donated by Clarissa Wilmerding, will be awarded to the lowest scoring member of a Pony Club who is aged 18 oryounger who completes in all three phases of the Essex Horse Trials in any division.
-The Jean and Elliott Haller Perpetual Trophy for Horsemanship will be presented to the rider who demonstrates good horsemanship and a superior partnership between horse and rider. This trophy is donated by Ms. AnnDavid of Hoopstick Farm.
Stabling/Veterinarian
Temporary Stabling:Stall fees are $250.00 a stall for the weekend. Limited stalls available so enter early.
Veterinarian:Running S Equine Veterinary Service. 908-832-5484. Phone number of Veterinarian and Farrier will be posted at Secretary's office.
Stabling: 40 Premier Stalls in USET Barn available to first come first served. All other stabling will be in temporary stalls.

Cross-Country
Approximate distances.P-3000m @ 520 mpm. T-2500m @ 470 mpm. N-2100m @ 400 mpm. BN-1800m@ 350 mpm. Distances are approximates. All courses: A true test for horses with some experience at these levels.
Cross-country courses closed: Always and are not open until 3:00 PM on June 30th.
All Cross-Country courses will be aerated, if needed. Competition staff will decide about aeration, weather pending.
Other Information
Levels may be divided/combined as entries warrant; Please state preferences under the Eligible Section and birth date on entry.
There will be tailgating for sale for all participating rider families. owners and sponsors.
Dogs must be leashed with human attached: $100 fine for loose dogs.
No Motorized Vehicles.
EV114 Dress 1. PROTECTIVE HEADGEAR. a. At all levels of eventing competition, from beginner novice through advanced, at Federation Endorsed competitions and recognized competitions, riders must wear headgear as follows, except as may otherwise be mandated by local law (see also GR801): b. Upon arrival, anyone riding a horse must wear properly fitting protective headgear which passes or surpasses ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials)/SEI (Safety Equipment Institute) standards for equestrian use and carries the SEI tag. Harness must be secured and properly fitted.
