Middleburg Horse Trial strongly prefers electronic entries and payment via credit card or other electronic means. We can accept either XENTRY or Evententries for electronic transmission of your entry to Middleburgand we strongly encourage all entries to use either system for entries and payment.For those not wanting to pay by credit card we are accepting payment via Venmo (@MiddleburgHorseTrials)or other electronic means (e.g. Zelle), but you would need to first contact the secretary if you want to use methods other than Xentry, Evententries or Venmo .Entry formsmust be submitted electronically (direct or via email [email protected]), not by mail.For ALL entries, the entry date will be the date when payment is processedelectronically If payment is not received by the closing date theentry is considered incomplete and will be subject to post entry late fees.Although you can fill out an entry using the USEA PDF entry form, they will not be directly transmitted electronically and you must email the entry to the secretary and pay them by credit card or use Venmo or other electronic means.

Change Fee:Change fee applies to division, horse and/ or rider.$30.00 fee for each change of entry after C.D. but
before June 2; Additional $50 fee for each change after June 2.Changes

Refunds:
Before C.D.-Less $25 office fee; After C.D.- less $100 ONLY if place can be

The USEA Starter/D&M fees ($25) and COVID-19 Recovery fee ($5) will be
returned within 30 days of the competition to any who do not start the dressage
test.Competition cancellation-No refund.

All entries include a $25 non-refundable office fee. Include printed, legible and current email address on entry. All correspondence from the secretary will be by email.All entrants competing must be USEA members. All horses competing must have USEA registration number. Preliminary competitors, include USEF membership numbers for rider, trainer and owner (including farm, syndicate, etc.). Riders, trainers, and/or owners of horses competing at the Preliminary level who arenotUSEF members will be required to pay $45 Show Pass fee with entry.(Note: a coach may or may not be a trainer; trainers are the ones who care and feed the horses)AND USEF MEMBERS - PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU ARE UP TO DATE ON YOUR SAFE SPORT TRAINING!!

The use of XENTRY or Evententries is strongly encouraged as you can submit your entries electronically.

Cross-country course closed for schooling before HT. Schooling is currently planned for Tuesday after the HT

Eightribbons per division;Prize money certificates good toward 2022 entry fees for 1st through 3rd at all levels. Also product awards by Sponsors. $3 fee for mailing ribbon paid to secretary prior to competition conclusion. Will be offering Ribbons and prizes for TIP registered horses (http://tjctip.com).

Stabling:No stabling available on-grounds. We will provide list of contacts of local stabling available to competitors upon request.

Other Information
Levels may be divided/combined if entries warrant; state preferences under the Eligible Section and birth date on entry, otherwise Senior is assumed. If event is oversubscribed, preference given to higher levels. Division days may change days depending on entries. Any changes will be posted to website.
Show jumping warmup and competition arena will be on all weather footing. Cross-country course closed for schooling before HT. We are planning a schooling day the Tuesday after the HT. The schooling will include XC as well as SJ in the all weather ring.
We need volunteers; please go to USEA's Volunteer Incentive Program:https://www.eventingvolunteers.com/events/1704 . Volunteers will get a schooling pass
Plan to bring own water, as closest water may be far away. Ice will be available at convenience store across the street.
Food Truck on grounds for breakfast & lunch. Vendors on grounds during event.

No loose dogs anywhere on the grounds including on XC course. Dogs must be leashed and attached to a person or vehicle per USEF Rule GR1301.6.

We will be guided by USEA/USEF and the State of Virginia Covid-19 protocols at the time of the event. We will notify all entries if we need to make any changes for health concerns.
EV114 Dress 1. PROTECTIVE HEADGEAR. a. At all levels of eventing competition, from beginner novice through advanced, at Federation Endorsed competitions and recognized competitions, riders must wear headgear as follows, except as may otherwise be mandated by local law (see also GR801): b. Upon arrival, anyone riding a horse must wear properly fitting protective headgear which passes or surpasses ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials)/SEI (Safety Equipment Institute) standards for equestrian use and carries the SEI tag. Harness must be secured and properly fitted.
