Great Meadow International

At this time, we are planning to run this event subject to health and other regulations in effect at the time.We have developed protocols to ensure the safety of everyone involved, following FEI, USEF, USEA, and all local and state guidance related to the COVID-19 health crisis. These protocols can be viewed on our website under the COVID Update tab. The driving force for all involved will be the health and safety of all competitors, volunteers, and staff. We have instituted an all-electronic entry and payment requirement for this event. Bridle numbers and pinneys will be provided but there will be no replacements. Please be sure to use the updated<strong> </strong>Federation Entry Agreement and USEF Waiver and Release of Liability and Assumption of Risk and Indemnity Agreement. Please also complete the Great Meadow International Waiver. All are available on the website under the competitor tab. Entries must be complete upon arrival.<strong></strong>On-time entries still incomplete one week before the event will be charged $25 per missing item. This includes signature pages, coggins, muck deposits, horse or rider numbers, etc.

If we receive more than 220 entries, we will start a waitlist.  We already have 206 entries, so please make sure that your entry is complete. 

Paid and complete entries will receive priority and unpaid and incomplete entries will be placed on the waitlist in the order in which they were received.

Please note that due to the number of entries, some 2* dressage rides will be scheduled on Wednesday afternoon. 

A CCI3-L division has been added, and approved.

Entries

US riders:Entries for ALL FEI competitions must be submitted to the FEI through the USEF online entry systemhttps://www.usef.org/_AUAIFrames/FEI/Entry/Default.aspxor they will not be considered complete. There is no fee to submit an entry through this system. AthletesMUSTalso enter the event (and pay the entry fees) through the normal entry process. Please also pay close attention to the closing date in the FEI DefiniteSchedule. Foreign riders need to contact their National Federation. All non-US rider/horse combinations must first enter through their NF. All NFs must use the FEI Entry System for entries for this event (https://entry.fei.org). All FEI athletes: In addition to the FEI entry system, all FEI athletes must also enter using the USEA's 2020 CCI-S and CCI-L Entry Form. All National athletes must enter through the USEA's XEntry system. See http://useventing.com/competitions/ and search for GMI for further details on the competition and XEntry. XEntry allows for payment via credit card. Entries are only accepted electronically through XEntry.

All FEI U.S. horses and riders must be registered with the USEF, USEA, and FEI. All national U.S. horses and riders must be registered with the USEF and USEA. Please include USEF Membership number for rider, trainer, and owner on entries.

Note: Va requires 30-day health certificate for horses entering state.
All FEI horses must have an FEI Passport indicating required influenza primary series & boosters. There will be a fee of $50 for returning passports not retrieved at the end of competition.

Please note: Non-competing horses who wish stabling with FEI horses must have ID papers and vaccination records indicating required influenza primary series and boosters.

Awards

Awards: Ribbons Individual 1st-8th. Prize money: $7500 for FEI divisions subject to financial ability; Distribution as per FEI Regulations, Articles 128, 129 & 130;Possibility of special awards for under 25 and teams.

Stabling/Veterinarian

Temp. stalls with doors;$295/stall plus a separate $50 muck fee deposit, Wednesday noon through Sunday PM. It is possible to stable Tuesday night but there would be an additional fee and the entry would need to contact the secretary.Tack stalls, depending on availability: $295;Be prepared to pay electronically for additional purchases of shavings or ice via Zelle, Venmo, PayPal or other electronic methods. Cross-Country

The venue provides terrific viewing of the courses. The terrain is gently undulating and is on the racecourse and permanent grassland. It is designed to be a showcase event with a wide variety of questions. Cross-country course closed and not available for schooling. Cross Country course is now completelyirrigated with additional improvementsmade to the Fleming Farm tracks. CCI3-L: 4560m @570 mpm. CCI4-S:3800m @ 570 mpm;CCI3-S:3400m @ 550 mpm;CCI2-S & Preliminary:2900m @ 520 mpm Variety of obstacles: ditches, banks, drops & water. Excellent, irrigated footing throughout, rolling terrain, no rocks.

Starting in 2019 there was a major change in the event as we ran CCI2-S, CCI3-S, & CCI4-S. This year we are adding a national Preliminary level. We can accommodate up to 220 riders. Spectators may be limited pursuant to health regulations in effect at the time. Check the website for updates to rules regarding spectators and other aspects of the event outside of the competition. Concessions may be available on grounds, depending on health regulations applicable at the time. It is advised to bring your own meals. Water on grounds but it is advised to bring your own. At all levels of eventing competition, from beginner novice through advanced, at Federation Endorsed competitions and recognized competitions, riders must wear headgear as follows, except as may otherwise be mandated by local law (see also GR801): b. Upon arrival, anyone riding a horse must wear properly fitting protective headgear which passes or surpasses ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials)/SEI (Safety Equipment Institute) standards for equestrian use and carries the SEI tag. Harness must be secured and properly fitted. GR1210 General 4. Competition management shall place a minimum of one sharps container per each competition, whether or not stabling is provided. Additionally, at least one sharps container per fifty occupied stalls for the disposal of needles and other disposable sharp instruments in convenient locations in barns housing competition horses. It is competition management’s responsibility to replace such containers when full and dispose of them properly. Competition management may fine any individuals including trainers, owners, exhibitors, or their agents up to $100 for improper disposal of needles or other sharp disposable instruments. Competition management will place a notice of this requirement either in its prize list or on a specific handout given to trainers on check in at the competition. If local law has different requirements, local law will prevail. Competitions failing to comply with placing the required number of containers on the show grounds will be considered in violation of the rules and may be subject to penalty as determined by the CEO or his designee and/or the Hearing Committee.
