Directions

From Salem & SR 45: Go south on SR 9 for 6.3 miles turn left on Schneider Rd (only goes left) sign on telephone pole. East to Stone Gate Farm. From the South: Intersection of SR 9 & 172 go north on SR 9 for 1 mile to the first road. Schneider Rd. will only go to the right. Stone Gate Farm sign on telephone pole. Grounds 3/4 mile on the right side. Stabling drive is at the bottom of the hill past the house. PLEASE NOTE: The secretary and ALL parking will be at the bottom of the hill near stabling. Directions, links to Google maps and more ... Mapquest does NOT always send you the best way.

Tentative Schedule

Fri: Packets available at ‑ 10 AM; YEH/NEH APPROXIMATELY 10:00 AM; FEH Classes and Cross‑country course open 3 pm. Sat: Dressage at 8 am (OP,OT,ON,BN, S); Show Jumping approximately 10 am. All Phases of Starter Test will run Sat. Please note: dressage may start earlier and riders MAY ride show jumping directly before cross country depending on the number of entries. Sun: Cross‑country at 8:30 am (OP,OT,ON,BN).

Entries after April 23rd will be accepted ONLY if there is space available (please check with secretary first) and MUST be entered and paid for via X Entry. Stabling: $75.00 weekend.
Stall Cleaning Deposit: $25.00 (separate check for each horse). Due to stalls not being left clean enough in the past; ALL stalls must now be STRIPPED. Checks will be destroyed if stalls are stripped, all others will be cashed.
Stall Cleaning Service: $10/stall, if paid with entry stall deposit not required. Please make note on stabling form.
Refunds: Before C.D.‑Less $25 non-refundable office fee; "EARLY BIRD ENTRIES" have until April 30th to withdraw and receive a full refund less $25 office fee. After C.D.‑Entry less $25 ONLY if place filled from waiting list. On grounds stabling‑In full ONLY if place filled from wait list and if notified by May 8th. USEA Starter and D&M Fees Refund Policy: The USEA Starter and D&M fees are not subjected to office fees, and shall be returned within 30 days of the competition to any rider who does not start the dressage test. Entries

Xentry preferred: signed entry form, coggins, stabling form & stall deposit (if applicable), payment and signed Stone Gate Farm Release Form MUST be postmarked within TWO days or entry will be removed form entry list until received. To be eligible for the 'early bird' discount entry & payment MUST be postmarked by April 9th or paid on-line. Any incomplete entries that are not completed by closing date will be assessed a $25 late fee. All entries include a $25 non-refundable office fee. USEAcurrent membership(Junior, Collegiate, Full, or Life) and horse registration (Limited or Full) are required at all levels, except Starter. Starter Test does NOT require USEA/USEF Membership; USEA Starter D&M Fees do not apply. PRELIMINARY entries must send a copy of USEF cards for rider, trainer and owner or pay for a day pass.If oversubscribed, priority given to USEA members.

T.I.P. entries must submit a copy of their T.I.P. card. Entry errors that are $25 or less will be considered contributions to the cross country building fund. $25 fee for any changes after closing date. Separate check of $25 stall cleaning deposit or stall will not be held (check will be destroyed if stall are stripped). Any bounced check will be charged a $25 fee. Refunds: Before C.D.‑Less $25 non-refundable office fee; "EARLY BIRD ENTRIES" have until April 30th to withdraw and receive a full refund less $25 office fee. Awards

Prize & 8 ribbons per division. T.I.P. Awards: for the top 2 placing TB's for ALL levels (not each division) including Starter (must include a copy of their T.I.P. card with entry).

Stabling/Veterinarian

Stabling: $75.00 weekend. Fills up fast. 74 perm. stalls on grounds. Off grounds stabling 6 - 12 miles away. Stall gates on ALL stalls. NO INITIAL BEDDING PROVIDED. Bedding is available for purchase: Bagged shavings $7/bag, Straw $4/bale and must be pre-ordered to guarantee availability by Wed. May 9th. May pay at check-in. Bedding will be in your stall upon arrival. Stabling requests handled on a first come basis. PLEASE USE ONLY ONE NAME FOR "STABLE WITH". On grounds stabling is NOT appropriate for stallions, contact secretary for options. Veterinarian: Dr. David Smith (lives on grounds), (330) 424-2310. # posted at each barn & secretary's office. Stall Cleaning Service $10/stall. Indicate on entry form. If paying for the stall cleaning service the $25 stall deposit is not required. If paid at competition, deposit check will be destroyed.

Dressage

Test & arena sizes: OP-2018 USEF Preliminary Test A-Sm. OT-2018 USEF Training Test A-Sm. ON-2018 USEF Novice Test A-Sm. BN-2018 USEF Beginner Novice Test A- Sm. 2' Starter Test-2018 USEF Beginner Novice Test A- Sm. Arenas: Sand or limestone footing with grass warm-up.

Cross-Country

OP-2800 m @ 520 mpm. OT-2500 m @ 425 mpm. ON-2000 m @ 350 mpm. BN-1700 m @ 325 mpm. Starter-Aproximately 1,200 at 300mpm. All courses: Average, for horses with some experience at this level. P-Good early season. BN-Inviting, good starter course, Fences approx. 2'7", water optional. Starter Test-XC Fences Approximately 2'. Rolling terrain, slightly flatter track in the spring. Water,banks, and ditches at all levels except Starter. Course maps will be available on My Course Walk.Cross-countryCourse closed April 29th.

Join us Saturday at the end of competition for fun and frivolity at the Saturday Night at the Races andto celebrate the35th Anniversary of the Winona Horse Trials!If you have any pictures to share, especially from the Huffman farm, we would love to have them to share with all the competitors new and old. He sure to put a year on the picture if available. Cross-countryCourse closed April 26th. Paper Pinnies numbers WILL be used (some available for purchase please pre-order; more information can be found on the website) Weather permitting, xc schooling will be available for one hour after the completion of cross country, $25/ horse, free to volunteers. Must check in, sign a waiver, & get pinney. The 2' Starter Test does NOT require USEA/USEF Membership OR association fees. However, all riders and horse must be members of the USEA in order to compete at the Beginner Novice level. Volunteers are always welcomed. For more information and to sign up at www.eventingvolunteers.com Entry limit-150. Levels may be divided/combined if entries warrant; state preferences under Eligible Section and birth date on entry. Food on grounds Dogs must be leashed. Note: ALL parking will now be down near the stabling area. Motor homes that are NOT attached to a horse trailer will have to park in the day parking field. Only tow vehicles parked in front of the trailerand official vehicles will be allowed in the stabling parking area. If staying overnight horses must be stabled; NO tying to or leaving horses in trailers. PLEASE no foals.
