USEA Seeks Volunteer Young Rider National Chair

The United States Eventing Association (USEA) is seeking a volunteer to serve as the USEA Young Rider Committee Chair/National Coordinator. The volunteer position leads the 10 USEA Young Rider Area Coordinators at the national level and works directly with respective USEA and USEF personnel.
The USEA Young Rider National Chair should have strong communication skills and organizational skills. The Chair will be responsible for scheduling regular meetings for the Young Rider Area Coordinators, creating agendas for meetings, sharing information and deadlines with Coordinators, coordinating for Young Rider Championships, and bringing forward miscellaneous information from the USEA and USEF regarding the Young Rider program and its series or championships.
Travel is not required for the Chair position, but travel would be encouraged (post COVID-19) for the USEA Annual Meeting & Convention, as well as for the respective North American Youth Championships (NAYC) or other Young Rider Championships.
The Chair will be expected to follow and promote the mission of the USEA Young Rider Coordinators.
USEA Young Rider Coordinators Mission
- To encourage and support the sport of eventing in competitors 21 years of age or younger.
- To make young riders aware of educational opportunities - coaching, course walks, clinics, camps, etc.
- Maintain/develop a Young Rider Advancement Program that offers guidance, and provides instruction to improve riding skills at all levels.
- To help field teams to represent each USEA Area at the North American Youth Championships (NAYC)
- To field teams and individuals to compete at other USEA Young Rider national championships and challenges.
- To develop camaraderie among young riders thus, hopefully, developing lifelong friendships and a commitment to the sport, which will be carried on as members of the USEF, volunteers at local events, coaches, trainers, competitors, and consumers of equine products.
- To promote good sportsmanship; being a team member; care and respect for the horse, without whom none of this is possible.
