Chester Intermediate Challenge on Friday, with Beginner Novice through Preliminary divisions running over Saturday and Sunday.

The Surefire Horse Trials in Purcellville, Virginia ran 18 divisions from Beginner Novice through Intermediate levels over three days last weekend. Riders enjoyed the cooler than normal weather and improved footing as they got their chance to ride at Jan Byyny’s beautiful farm.
Surefire Farm provided a picturesque background for the hundreds of horses and riders who competed there from June 24 –26. A favorite on the summer calendar in Area II, the event attracts riders from up and down the east coast.
Edith Rameika and Sara Kozumplik’s Manolo Blahnik cashed in big today at the $10,000 J.C. Chester Intermediate Challenge at the Surefire Horse Trials in Purcellville, Virginia. Sara started the morning with the 15-year-old New Zealand Thoroughbred in a tie for ninth on a score of 35.2.
