All three equestrian disciplines – Jumping, Dressage, and Eventing – have been formally confirmed for the Paris 2024 Olympic program. In addition, the six events – team and individual across each of the three disciplines – and the full quota of 200 athlete/horse combinations have also been endorsed.
The United States Equestrian Federation (USEF) has released the updated selection procedures for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games which were modified due to the postponement. The Olympics are scheduled to take place from July 23 to August 8, 2021, with eventing occurring from July 30 to August 2, 2021.
During the inaugural online IOC session today, the Tokyo Organizing Committee of the Olympic and Paralympic Games (TOCOG) confirmed the Olympic Games competition schedule for 2021. For equestrian sport, the competition dates have been moved forward by one day so as to mirror the 2020 daily schedule whereby the equestrian events which were due to start on Saturday, July 25, 2020 and finish on Saturday, August 8, 2020 will now run from Saturday, July 24, 2021 to Saturday, August 7, 2021.

In 1912, three-day eventing was introduced as an Olympic sport, and since then U.S. Eventing has earned a total of 77 different medals at the Olympics, World Equestrian Games, and Pan American Games. Out of the 77 medals, 31 are gold, 25 are silver, and 21 are bronze.
The International Olympic Committee (IOC), the International Paralympic Committee (IPC), the Tokyo 2020 Organizing Committee, the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Government of Japan today agreed on new dates for the Games of the XXXII Olympiad in 2021. The Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020 will be celebrated from July 23 to August 8, 2021. They also agreed on new dates for the Paralympic Games, which will be celebrated from August 24 to September 5, 2021.
In the present circumstances and based on the information provided by the WHO today, the IOC President and the Prime Minister of Japan have concluded that the Games of the XXXII Olympiad in Tokyo must be rescheduled to a date beyond 2020 but not later than summer 2021, to safeguard the health of the athletes, everybody involved in the Olympic Games and the international community.

The 2020 Tokyo Olympics are still nine months away, but the excitement is ramping up. With the conclusion of the 2019 FEI Eventing Nations Cup, the final tickets have been decided for the countries, but there is still a lot more to do before next summer. The eventing will take place from Friday, July 31 to Monday, August 3 in Tokyo, Japan. Typically eventing is the first equestrian discipline, but this year it will be the second with dressage coming first and jumping last.
