Sara Kozumplik and Rubens D'ysieux put all the pieces together this weekend to secure the Open Intermediate win at the 2024 Essex Horse Trials. Kozumplik and the 19-year-old Selle Français gelding, owned by Edith Rameika, jumped clear over Morgan Rowsell’s cross-country course to clinch the title on a final score of 28.9.
Hannah Sue Hollberg of Kennett Square, Pennsylvania, was on a winning streak at the Essex Horse Trials on Sunday, claiming victory in both the $10,000 Open Intermediate and Open Preliminary divisions with two horses that are fairly new to her. Some difficulty on cross-country did not stop her mount Hachi from claiming victory in the Open Intermediate with a score of 101.6, while Open Preliminary partner Rockster finished on his dressage score of 27.3.

The Essex Horse Trials in New Jersey in the USEA’s Area II combines eventing’s history and future. The Essex Horse Trials jumps back into action this summer, July 1-2, with a new format at two iconic locations. On Friday, dressage and show jumping will be held at Hamilton Farm, home of the USET Foundation Headquarters in Gladstone, NJ. The next day, the exciting cross-country phase returns to the familiar surroundings of historic Moorland Farm in Far Hills.
The USEA Foundation is now accepting applications for the Essex Horse Trials Grant, the Seema Sonnad Junior Rider's Grant, and the Haller Scholarship for Eventing Officials.

U.S. Olympic veteran Will Coleman rode his longtime partner, Obos O'Reilly, to the win in the Advanced division of the MARS Essex Horse Trials at historic Moorland Farm. Coleman finished cross-country with no jumping and 6.4 time penalties for a three-phase score of 42.10 penalties on the Four Star Eventing Group's 16-year-old Irish Sport Horse (OBOS Quality x Omard Clover Queen).

After several days of rain, weather conditions improved immensely for the first day of competition at the 2019 Mars Essex Horse Trials Country Weekend and the crowd responded. Thousands turned out Saturday to watch top horses and riders compete at historic Moorland Farm.
The Mars Essex Horse Trials Country Weekend is pleased to announce that the 2019 entry forms are now available online. Set to take place Friday, June 21, through Sunday, June 23 at historic Moorland Farm in Far Hills, New Jersey, the third running of the iconic event features top equestrians in the Beginner Novice through Advanced divisions.
