The United States Eventing Association (USEA) is sad to report that Some Like It Hot collapsed and died on Saturday, July 4 at the Winona Horse Trials in Hanoverton, Ohio. Some Like It Hot was a 19-year-old Thoroughbred mare of unrecorded breeding owned by Ellie Celarek.

The Winona Horse Trials is held yearly in May at Stone Gate Farm in Hanoverton, Ohio (Area VIII), offering Starter through Preliminary levels and USEA Young, Future, and New Event Horse classes.

The Winona Horse Trials (Area VIII) is pleased to announce the addition of the Future Event Horse classes. Whether you're looking to qualify for the USEA Future Event Horse Championships or you simply want to get your youngsters out and about, this is the show for you.

The Winona Horse Trials has long considered offering an Intercollegiate Team Challenge and with the NEW Intercollegiate Championships at the VA Horse Trials two weeks later; 2016 seemed like the year to make it a reality.

I would like to thank all the competitors for choosing to come to the 25th running of the Winona Horse Trials. I hope you and your horse had an enjoyable experience. We really lucked out with the weather. Despite the rain on Fri., the gusty winds on Sat. and the cool temperatures on Sun.; I think all went well.

Competitors at the Winona Horse Trials will be among the first in the nation to compete for the NEW ‘Technical Merit Award’.
