Fifteen-year veterans of running USEA and USEF events, Jim and Darlyn Daratony of Cobblestone Farms are expanding their horse shows to a new property for 2021, a recently acquired 150 acre (former) golf course they have named Revel Run.

As leaders in the community, they have had numerous requests to add a Modified level cross-country course, to fill a need in the area. Faced with existing costs of renovating the golf course and moving from their old, smaller property, a crowdfunding effort has been launched to cover the investment of adding a true Modified level course to the plan.

The Charles Owen Technical Merit Award visits each of the 10 USEA Areas each year, presenting one junior and one adult amateur rider at the Training level with an award based on safe and effective cross-country riding. The Area VIII leg of the Charles Owen Technical Merit Award took place at the Cobblestone Farms Horse Trials, August 2-4, 2019. Noah Stanlaske and Michelle Weeks earned the junior and adult amateur awards, respectively.

The small Northern town of Dexter, Michigan is home to the Cobblestone Farms Horse Trials, the host of Area VIII’s Charles Owen Technical Merit Award. Nicole Maynard and Kiersten Miller took top honors for their safe, appropriate cross-country rounds at Cobblestone Farms Horse Trials on August 3 – 5, 2018.

Jim and Darlyn Daratony purchased Cobblestone Farms in Dexter, Michigan with the dream of turning it into a premiere boarding, training, and eventing facility.
