Fast Facts: 2024 USEA Annual Meeting & Convention

Say hello to Seattle, USEA members! The 2024 USEA Annual Meeting & Convention gets underway tomorrow and features four full days of educational seminars, committee meetings, and social gatherings all surrounding the sport of eventing! This year’s Convention takes place in Seattle, Washington, at The Westin Seattle from Dec. 12-15. Check out all of the items on this year's agenda that you won't want to miss!

  • When: Dec. 12-15, 2024
  • Where: The Westin Seattle | 1900 5th Avenue, Seattle, WA, 98101
  • There are an impressive 21 educational seminars, 15 open forums, and 34 committee meetings on the schedule. To learn more about the various educational seminars being offered, click here.
  • There are two tracks that attendees may follow, each with their own unique content. Feel free to mix and match as you see fit to attend the sessions that speak to you!
  • Stop by the 4th Floor Grand Ballroom Foyer each morning from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. for a continental breakfast graciously sponsored by Rebecca Farm.
  • Special events:
    • The Show Jumping Seminar on Thursday, Dec. 12 from 9:00 A.M. to 12:00 P.M. will kick-off convention week.
    • The USEA Board of Governors will meet on Thursday, Dec. 12 at 3:00 P.M. and Sunday, Dec. 15 at 9:00 A.M. All are welcome to sit in and hear what is currently taking place on the USEA agenda.
    • The USEA Board of Governors will host a Welcome Reception on Thursday, Dec. 12 at 6:00 P.M in Grand Ballroom III for all convention attendees.
    • Celebrate the hard work and accomplishments of our members throughout the year during the USEA Year-End Awards Luncheon on Friday, Dec. 13 at 12:00 p.m. in Grand Ballroom III. Awards cocktails will begin 30 minutes prior to the ceremony in the Grand Foyer.
    • Join Area VII as they extend their hospitality by welcoming all USEA members to Seattle during the Area IV Welcome Reception, Bingo Night, and Poker Tournament on Friday, Dec. 13 at 6:30 P.M. in Grand Ballroom III.
    • The USEA Annual Meeting of Members Luncheon and Keynote Presentation will take place on Saturday Dec. 14 at 12:00 p.m. and will feature an exciting presentation from this year’s Keynote Speaker Tik Maynard. Cocktails will be served 30 minutes prior to the luncheon in the Grand Foyer.
    • Don't forget! On Saturday, Dec. 14, there will be a screening of the exciting new documentary Hoof Dreams in Grand Ballroom III starting at 6:30 p.m. Click here for more details.
  • Tickets can still be purchased for the Meeting of Members Luncheon and Keynote Presentation, the USEA Year-End Awards Luncheon, and the Hoof Dreams screening here.
  • Please note that the USEA will not be livestreaming the Annual Meeting & Convention. If you will not be able to attend in-person, make sure you follow the USEA on social media @useventing and visit the Convention webpage to follow along with the media coverage throughout the event.
  • Not registered for convention yet? Don’t worry! You can register to attend on-site in the Mezzanine starting Thursday at 7:00 a.m.

Tom McEwen and JL Dublin are Stars of the Show at the MARS Badminton Horse Trials

The Olympic gold medallists Tom McEwen and JL Dublin lit up the arena at the MARS Badminton Horse Trials with a stunning performance and took the lead after the first day of dressage with the excellent mark of 22.4. They have almost five penalties over second-placed Emily King and Valmy Biats on 27.3.
