Doug Payne and Vandiver Double Up on CCI4*-S Wins at The Fork at TIEC

Repeating their 2021 win at The Fork, Doug Payne (USA) and Vandiver climbed from seventh to top of the pack in the, producing the fastest cross-country round of the day in the CCI4*-S Division to clinch the win on a score of 30.8. Meanwhile, Phillip Dutton (USA) and Z, the 14-year-old Zangersheide gelding (ASCA x Babouche VH Gehucht Z) owned by Evie Dutton, Ann Jones, Suzanne Lacy, Caroline Moran, Thomas Tierney, and David and Patricia Vos, added just 2.8 points to their previous score of 28 to also achieve a score of 30.8. With Payne’s more optimum time across the Captain Mark Phillips (GBR) course design, he won the tie-breaker. Will Coleman (USA) and Off the Record, the 13-year-old Irish Sport Horse Gelding (VDL Arkansas x Ard Ohio) owned by Off The Record Syndicate, claimed third place honors on a score of 31.2 to round out the podium.

Liz Halliday-Sharp Holds On for CCI 4*-S Lead with Cooley Moonshine at The Fork

Day two of The Fork at TIEC featured cross-country and show jumping competition hosted at Tryon International Equestrian Center & Resort (TIEC) as part of the three-day eventing competition. Upper levels contested show jumping in Tryon Stadium in the afternoon over the Dean Rheinheimer (USA) course, while levels Beginner Novice through Preliminary challenged the cross-country track set by Captain Mark Phillips (GBR). Liz Halliday-Sharp Leads CCI 4*-S and CCI 3*-S Divisions at The Fork

In its twentieth year of existence across two venues, the historic eventing competition known as The Fork kicked off at Tryon International Equestrian Center & Resort (TIEC) with dressage to launch three days of international and national eventing competition, with 225 entries presenting in the sandbox. Woods Baughman and C'est La Vie 135 Claim 2021 Dutta Corp/USEF Eventing CCI4*-L National Champion Title

The final day of The Dutta Corp Tryon International Three-Day Event at Tryon International Equestrian Center & Resort (TIEC) saw the new national champion crowned at the CCI 4*-L level Sunday after a thrilling Show Jumping competition. Woods Baughman (USA) claimed the Dutta Corp/USEF 4*-L Eventing National Championship with C’est La Vie 135 on a score of 29.4, enjoying a sweet comeback after overcoming a broken back and improving from a third place finish in 2020. Sweetening the victory even more was finishing just ahead of his coach, Sharon White (USA) aboard Claus 63, her own 2012 Holsteiner gelding (Catoo x Levisto), who wrapped up their weekend on a score of 36.7 for reserve after adding .8 penalties for time to their total. Will Coleman (USA) and Chin Tonic HS had one rail down to finish third, scoring an even 38 points with the 2012 Holsteiner gelding (Chin Champ x Quinar) owned by Hyperion Stud LLC.

Cross-Country Change-Up for Dutta Corp Tryon International Three-Day Event Leaderboards

The Dutta Corp/USEF CCI 4*-L Eventing National Championship podium has rearranged after Cross-Country, with the same trio of horse-and-rider pairs holding onto top three spots ahead of jumping competition on Sunday. Woods Baughman (USA) and C’est La Vie are the new pair to beat, adding nothing to their Dressage score after blazing around the Cross-Country course in nine minutes and 36 seconds. Will Coleman (USA) and Chin Tonic HS added 7.6 time penalties to their 26 for a total score of 33.6 for the 2012 Holsteiner gelding (Chin Champ x Quinar) owned by Hyperion Stud LLC, while Sharon White (USA) and Claus 63, her own 2012 Holsteiner gelding (Catoo x Levisto), sit at 35.9 points for third place after adding six time penalties to their score.

Tryon International Equestrian Center Announces Addition of CCI4*-L and FEI Divisions to Fall Eventing Calendar

Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC) at Tryon Resort is pleased to announce the addition of a new CCI4*-L eventing competition to be held November 12-15, 2020, pending USEF and FEI approval. The event will feature international competition at the CCI4*-L, CCI4*-S, CCI3*-L, and CCI2*-L levels, and offer the only CCI4*-L competition on the East Coast for the 2020 season. The event will also mark the highest level of eventing competition hosted at the venue since the FEI World Equestrian Games™ Tryon 2018 (WEG), though international eventing competition is hosted annually at the venue.

Boyd Martin and Long Island T Lead The Fork at TIEC after Advanced Dressage

Boyd Martin (USA) and Long Island T impressed the judges and put in a top score of 24.50 in Advanced dressage, commencing The Fork at TIEC presented by Lucky Clays Farm at Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC). Lynn Symansky and Under Suspection rode into second with a score of 27.70, and Felix Vogg(SUI) moved into third aboard Archie Rocks with a score of 29.50.

Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC) is proud to announce the return of The Fork at TIEC, the FEI CIC 3*/2*/1* and Horse Trials presented by Lucky Clays Farm, on April 4-8, 2018.
