Meet the USEA Staff: Education

The Education Department at the USEA is manned by one very dedicated, long-time employee: Senior Director of Education, Nancy Knight. Knight joined the USEA staff in December of 1999 after moving to Maryland from Green Bay, Wisconsin. She is responsible for the administration of all Training Programs for Eventing Officials (TPEO) and Continuing Education Clinics (CEC) for licensed officials, as well as the workshops, assessments, and annual symposium held by the USEA Eventing Coaches Program (ECP).

Beware of Phishing Attempts and Other Types of Fraud

Please always remain vigilant when it comes to sending any personal communications via email or text. Every year we receive reports of members and leaders of our sport receiving phishing attempts both online and by phone. These are often communications disguised as being sent from USEA staff or other leaders. As the years go on, the phishing attempts appear to be more directed and tailored.

USEA Investigating Issues with Mail Delivery through the USPS

It has been brought to the attention of the United States Eventing Association (USEA) that there have been issues with mail delivery by the United States Postal Service (USPS) to the USEA office associated with the busy holiday season. There have been numerous reports by members of letters being sent to the USEA office which have not been received dating back to before the Thanksgiving holiday. We are working with the USPS to attempt to address and resolve this situation. (USEA) is currently searching for qualified applicants for the position of Media and Communications Assistant. Applicants with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Communications, Media or a related field are asked to apply. Preference will be given to applicants with experience in the equestrian sport of eventing, creating and executing a media plan for web and social media, managing a content management system for a website, the ability to write and develop high quality articles, photography skills, and graphic design skills. Due to the relatively small staff size of the Association, this position requires a team player who is willing to pitch in with a variety of tasks as necessary.

USEA Board of Governors Discuss Safety, Volunteers, Calendar Modifications, Membership, and More During August Meeting

The USEA Board of Governors (BOG) concluded a productive two days of the August BOG meeting on Wednesday, August 9th in Dulles, Virginia led by USEA President Max Corcoran. All but four BOG members were able to attend in person this year. Many key items related to eventing in the U.S. were discussed at great length including safety, membership strategies, competition procedures, visibility of the sport, and more over the course of the two-day gathering.
