Last month legendary eventer William Fox-Pitt joined a packed audience in Fort Lauderdale, Florida as the keynote speaker for the 2016 USEA Annual Meeting of Members. He walked the audience through his severe brain injury which he sustained in the autumn of 2015 and described his rehabilitation as he prepared for the 2016 Olympic Games.
“In April you think there is loads of time before August, and when I got my sight back I thought ok we have a shot of going,” Fox-Pitt recalled. “But everyone around me was saying don’t tell him, don’t depress him, there is no way he is going to Rio.”
Listen above to his incredible journey back into health and into the saddle.
