In this lesson, Jane Bartle-Wilson instructs a rider on how to use travers (also known as haunches-in) and shoulder-in to improve the quality of her horse's gaits. Bartle-Wilson explains how the horse's head should be looking straight in travers and has the rider perform a circle before entering into travers to improve the horse's body position. She provides a detailed and thorough explanation of how the rider's aides must be applied to properly achieve a true travers. Click here to view the full educational video.
