The 2017 USEA Annual Meeting and Convention may have come and gone, but thanks to our friends at Ride On Video you will have the chance to relive the action as we share videos of the different sessions!
At the 2017 USEA Annual Meeting and Convention, Allyn Mann from Adequan gave a presentation on the degeneration of joints in the aging performance horse. He begins by educating attendees on what degenerative joint disease (DJD) is and how it occurs, as well as describing the anatomy of the horse’s joints. He proceeds to discuss the function of cartilage of in the joint and how cartilage becomes damaged when a horse has DJD. Mann then discusses the different symptoms and indicators that a horse is exhibiting signs of DJD, and the multitude of different treatment options that owners, trainers, and riders can use to help a horse with DJD.
