Lauren Kieffer and Hannah Sue Burnett spent their morning with the first graders at the W.G. Coleman Elementary School in Marshall, Va. as part of the school's career month. The riders presented a slide show with photos of themselves and their horses in action, including shots demonstrating the many facets of being a professional horseback rider.
The riders also brought in some competition ribbons and equipment for the students to see. The kids were engaged and enthusiastic about learning all that they could from Kieffer and Burnett, and asked a range of questions, from "How do you win a competition?" to "How much do horses cost?" to "Who is your favorite horse?" After they got to examine a horse's bridle and try on a riding helmet, the students lined up for autographs from the riders.
