USEA Extends Suspension of Recognizing Events

The United States Eventing Association (USEA) Board of Governors voted last night to mirror the dates decided by US Equestrian (USEF) for suspending recognizing competitions and educational activities. The USEA will extend its suspension of recognizing events under its direct jurisdiction through May 3, 2020. The suspension extends also to USEA recognized educational activities, Young Event Horse, Future Event Horse, and New Event Horse competitions.

USEA to Suspend Recognizing Events for Two Weeks

The United States Eventing Association (USEA) Board of Governors held an emergency meeting on Friday, March 13 to discuss the impact of the coronavirus (COVID-19) on the U.S. eventing community. “While some parts of the U.S. are not yet seeing cases of the coronavirus, we are making these decisions with the entire country and membership in mind,” said USEA President Max Corcoran. “We need to reel in this virus as humans and help make an impact. The USEA is committed to the welfare and safety of our competitors, volunteers, officials, spectators, and fans.”

He started his eventing career 19 years ago, he recently placed second at the Ocala Winter I H.T. in the Preliminary Rider division with Amanda Gardiner, he was a demo horse for this year’s 2020 USEA Educational Symposium, and he’s 24 years old – Relentless Pursuit is the USEA March Horse of the Month. Relentless Pursuit (A Lee Rover x Sumptious Gal) is a 1996 Thoroughbred gelding owned by Dana and Pamela Widstrand and currently ridden by Amanda Gardiner.
