Deadline for 2022 Worth the Trust Scholarship is Approaching!

Thanks to the support of Joan Iversen Goswell, the Worth the Trust Educational Scholarships were established in 2000 to provide financial assistance to amateurs to pursue their education in eventing. The funds from the Worth the Trust Educational Scholarships may be used for training opportunities such as clinics, working student positions, and private or group instruction, or to learn from an official, course designer, technical delegate, judge, veterinarian, or organizer.

The YEH Yearbook: Class of 2013

With over 100 horses qualified for the USEA Young Event Horse (YEH) Championships, 2013 was a phenomenal year of growth for the YEH Program. Fair Hill International, held in Elkton, Maryland, was host to the ninth annual USEA YEH East Coast Championships while the Galway Downs International Three-Day Event and H.T. in Temecula, California served as the competition site for the fifth annual USEA YEH West Coast Championships.

YEH Training Tips: Five Questions with Tamie Smith

Tamie Smith, the traveling reserve for the U.S. Eventing Olympic Tokyo team, is a five-star competitor and an active participant in the USEA Young Event Horse (YEH) program. Smith’s Olympic horse, Mai Baum (Loredano x Ramira), a 15-year-old German Sport Horse gelding owned by Alexandra Ahearn, Ellen Ahearn, and Eric Markell, was a graduate of the YEH program in 2011. In 2016, Smith and Judith McSwain’s American bred Holsteiner mare, Fleeceworks Royal (Riverman x Marisol), were the recipients of the Holekamp/Turner Le Lion d’Angers Grant. In 2018, Smith was the winner of the USEA YEH Championships riding the MB Group LLC’s Oldenburg gelding, MB Maistein (Rocky Lee x High Ovation).

Get Qualified: The Dutta Corp. USEA YEH Championships Are Approaching

The Dutta Corp. USEA Young Event Horse (YEH) Championships are just a few months away, and many horses are on track earning their qualifications for the fall. Catch Up With the Current 2021 USEA 6 and 7-Year-Old National Leaderboards

In an effort to encourage a continuous educational and competitive upbringing for young event horses in North America, the United States Eventing Association (USEA) introduced the 6- and 7-year-old national leaderboards in 2019. The addition of these two leaderboards ensured the pathway for young event horse development was complete from yearling to 7-year-olds through programs associated with the USEA Future Event Horse (FEH) and USEA Young Event Horse (YEH).

Ever So Sweet Scholarship Recipient Announced: Inaugural Scholarship Awarded to Helen Casteel

Strides for Equality Equestrians and the United States Eventing Association Foundation are proud to announce the first recipient of the Ever So Sweet Scholarship. The scholarship, which is the first of its kind, provides a fully-funded opportunity for riders from diverse backgrounds to train with upper-level professionals. Helen Casteel of Maryland is the first recipient of the bi-annual scholarship.

Rebecca Broussard International and National Developing Riders' Grants

2021 will be the last year the Rebecca Broussard International and National Developing Riders’ Grants will be offered. The committee would like to thank Jerome Broussard and the entire Broussard family for supporting these valuable grants for so many years.

Interviews for this year’s International and National Developing Rider’s Grants will be held at The Event at Rebecca Farm and will be limited to riders entered in both the CCI4*-L and the CCI4*-S. For those riders entered, please sign up for your interview at the show office upon arrival. Interviews will take place Tuesday through Thursday before your dressage tests.

The YEH Yearbook: Class of 2012

The USEA Young Event Horse Program (YEH) continued with another successful year in 2012. For the eighth year in a row, the USEA YEH East Coast Championships were held at Fair Hill International in Elkton, Maryland. The USEA YEH West Coast Championships were held at Twin Rivers Ranch in Paso Robles, California for the fourth year. Six of the top ten finishers on the East Coast and two of the top eight on the West Coast continued to have a successful career competing at the highest levels of the discipline.
