USEA Collegiate Member: Paige Ansaldi, Five-Star Groom and Full-Time Student at University of Maryland

“This week was just as much about Paige as it was Favian and I because, without her, we are nothing,” said Valerie Vizcarrondo Pride of Blue Clover Eventing in a social media post after her five-star completion at the Maryland 5 Star. Described as Favian’s hero, Paige Ansaldi is a five-star groom at Blue Clover Eventing, a full-time student at the University of Maryland, a team member of the University of Maryland eventing team, and an active competitor herself.

USEA Collegiate Member: Cosby Green, Four-Star Competitor and Full-Time Student

Fresh off a top 15 finish in the CCI3*-L at the Maryland 5 Star, Cosby Green is back in Lexington attending class at the University of Kentucky (UK). The 21-year-old is an undergraduate student, a team member and the social chair of the UK eventing team, has two upper-level event horses, Copper Beach and Highly Suspicious, and a young horse, McCreary, who she rode on the winning team of the 2021 USEA Intercollegiate Eventing Championships.

University of Maryland: Fearless Eventing

The University of Maryland (UMD) Eventing Team began as a small club of about five members in 2016 and is excited to be heading into our fourth year together – each new eventing season brings more members, competitions, and unforgettable memories. We are based out of Tara Equestrian in Sykesville, Maryland under the guidance of our amazing trainer and two-star event rider, Ashley Beheler.

A Busy Year for the Randolph-Macon College Eventing Team

The Randolph-Macon College Eventing program was established only six years ago by two individuals. Within a few years, it has grown to 16 members who all share the same passion for eventing and their horses. Randolph-Macon College has provided us with a 70-acre state-of-the-art facility where we can achieve our goals under the watchful eye of five-star rider Ashley Adams. The R-MC Eventing program has given us the opportunity to pursue our aspirations in the horse world while also achieving academic success.

From Humble Beginnings: The Transylvania Eventing Team

At the heart of the bluegrass state sits Transylvania University, one of the top 100 liberal art schools in America and home to Transylvania University’s Eventing Team. Head coach, Tanya Davis, works round the clock at her barn, Three Day Farm, to keep the team in top shape. Transylvania University, fondly known as “Transy,” was founded in 1780, making it the 19th oldest university in the country.

University of Findlay Eventing Team Celebrates Seven Years

The University of Findlay’s Three-Day Eventing Team was established in 2013, the same year USEA voted and approved the USEA intercollegiate program. The UF team has over 30 members encompassing a variety of majors at the university. The team has access to two indoor arenas, a large outdoor arena, and 70 acres of on-site cross-country fences.

Eventing at NC State Treasures Horsemanship and Friendship

Eventing at NC State was founded in 2016 and we currently have 18 undergraduate members as well as a supportive group of alumni riders. We are proud to be the first intercollegiate team in North Carolina located at the heart of the 1862 Land Grant Institution, NC State University. We have riders just beginning their eventing careers as well as those that are seasoned competitors, competing from Maiden through Training level.

Hear the Tigers Roar: Sewanee’s Eventing Team

The Sewanee Eventing team was founded in 2016 under the direction of coach Karine Gordy. The University of the South, commonly known as Sewanee, sits atop what students call the “Mountain,” 13,000 acres of beautiful land on the Cumberland Plateau. The students at Sewanee are fortunate enough to have an equestrian center on campus which is shared by the Eventing and IHSA teams.

Eventing Grows Stronger at Florida State University

The Eventing Team at Florida State University (FSU) was established as an official student organization in the Spring of 2017. We began with one rider and one coach, and, as of the Fall of 2019, have grown to 16 riders out of several barns in the Tallahassee area. We are proud to represent FSU at schooling shows (volunteering and riding) as well as USEA recognized events.

The Cal Poly SLO Eventing Team was founded in 2018 by Lexie Thacker, other Cal Poly Eventers, and current President Kaley Sapper. The Cal Poly Eventing Team currently has a total of 16 members, a majority of who plan on competing for the team in the coming school year.
