From I-70: Route 470/291 south to 470 west, exit at Raytown Road, South to Highgrove Road. Left to 4-way stop, also Raytown Road. Left to Horse Park Driveway (approx 1 mile on right).
From West: Route 435 East then follow Route 470 East to Raytown Road South then as above.
North: Route 435 South (east side of KC) to 470 East to 
Raytown Road South then as above.
From South: 71 Highway to Grandview, MO - Main Street Exit. East for 2.6 miles to second 4-way stop. Left at second Raytown Road.

Competition cancellation- Refund excluding competition expenses. USEA Starter and D&M Fees Refund Policy: The USEA Starter and D&M fees ($21), are not subjected to office fees, and shall be returned within 30 days of the competition to any rider who does not start the dressage test.

Preliminary entries must include copies of USEF membership cards for rider and owner.  
Entry fees include a $25 non-refundable office fee. Double entries: Not accepted.
USEA membership/registration requirements effective December 1, 2017 for Beginner Novice. This level will no longer have the option to pay a $25 non-member fee: riders must be a current Junior, Full, Life or Collegiate member and horses registered with either a Limited status or Full. 
$50 returned check fee. 
New in 2018 - All competitors must provide pinny holder (available for sale at area tack shops or from our vendor, The Eventing Shop) - printed number inserts will be provided.
There will be an Express Check In line for competitors who have submitted complete entries, provided Coggins and Health Certificate by Thursday 5/9/18. 
Neg. Coggins within 12 months required for all horses (include copy with entry) & 30 day health certificate required (FOR ALL HORSES) within 30 days to be presented to show secretary upon arrival. 
MCPC is also offering a Starter level horse trial AND a Starter level Combined Test (Dressage and Show Jumping).  USEA membership is not required for Starter level.   Starter participants are exempt from the USEA Starter/D&M Fee and USEA Membership/Non-Membership Fees are waived. Starter Division Dressage Test = USDF Intro Test B for both horse trial and combined test.  To enter Starter Combined Test, please use the USEA Entry Form and note "Combined Test" at the top. CT entries will be accepted thru closing date.   


Competitor Information

Great cash prizes in 2018!!  Preliminary cash prizes - $500 for first place, $250 for second place and $100 for third place. Cash prizes for Training, Novice, and Beginner Novice: $100 first place, $50 second place, and $30 third place (overall division placing).  8 ribbons per class. Cash prize for Starter Division: $75 first place, $50 second place and $25 for third place (professional riders are not eligible for Starter Division cash prizes).
Other non monetary prizes: 1st-3rd placings plus various special awards TBD.  

The Jockey Club's Thoroughbred Incentive Program (TJC T.I.P) is offering the following prize money (pending approval): 

  • The Jockey Club T.I.P. Starter Division High Point Thoroughbred Award - $50
  • The Jockey Club T.I.P. Beginner Novice High Point Thoroughbred Award - $50
  • The Jockey Club T.I.P. Novice High Point Thoroughbred Award - $50
  • The Jockey Club T.I.P. Training High Point Thoroughbred Award - $50

Returning in 2018 Mill Creek Team Challenge! Submit team listing (4 members per team, top 3 scores count) and team name by 9:00 am on Saturday 5/12/18 to secretary. Fabulous prizes for all team members 1st through 3rd place after cross-country (includes dressage and cross-country scores). Prizes to be awarded at pizza party after cross-country in competitors' tent.

LIMITED stabling. $130/stall from 11 am, Friday to 5 pm, Sunday. 145 perm wooden stalls/no temps available. Off grounds stabling offered. Stalls assigned by order of receipt of entry fees. Stall doors/initial bedding only provided. Extra shavings available by pre-order only ($10/bale) order by 5/8/18. Competitors are encouraged to bring their own extra shavings. $65 grounds fee, if not stabled.   Indoor restrooms with running water and showers on site.  Additional port-a-potties near warm up and barn areas.  Veterinarian: Dr. Maureen Sutter, Red Oak Animal Hospital, # will be posted at secretary's tent.  Farrier:  TBD - will be on site at south end of Barn B.  Midwest Region of USPC is holding their Eventing Rally in conjunction with our horse trials.  Early entry is suggested to ensure stall availability.

P-2900 m @ 520 mpm, confidence building course for horses prepared for the level. Terrain questions test balance.  T-2500 m @ 450 mpm, solid course for level; forward galloping track with use of terrain to balance and educate.   N-2200 m @ 400 mpm; inviting track for horses with some experience at the level. BN- 2000 m @ 350 mpm; inviting track for horses with some experience at the level.  Starter Division 1300 m @ 275 mpm with 10-11 inviting obstacles (max height 2'3").
All courses:
 Varied terrain; gently rolling hills with excellent galloping tracks. Expect water, banks and ditches at all levels.  Appropriate courses for spring event.  Cross country course officially closed effective 6:00 pm 4/22/18 until course walk on 5/11/18.

Competitor and Volunteer Pizza party (approximately 45 minutes after last cross-country rider) in competitors' tent - entry includes 1 ticket for pizza. Extra tickets $5 per person (please include reservation with entry - only limited number can be purchased Saturday of event).

Open schooling dates set for March 24 & 25; April 7 & 8, and April 21 & 22, 2018.  Please check for information regarding rain out/footing/weather issues.  Check for information.  

Entry limit, 175. ***NOTE*** Due to the Kansas City Triathlon on Sunday, May 13th, there will be several road closures on the west side of the Longview Lake and the Longview Horse Park beginning at 7:00 am. Plan on arriving early Sunday morning to avoid the closures. Alternate routes will be posted in the competitors' tent, bathrooms, scoreboard, stables, and port-a-pots.  

Levels may be divided/combined if entries warrant; state preferences under Eligible Section and birth date on entry.  If riding more than one horse be prepared for a tight schedule.

Concessions available on grounds Sat. and Sun.
Dogs must be leashed under Jackson County Park ordinances.  Loose dogs can be retrieved from show office for $50 donation to MCPC jump fund. No unauthorized motorized vehicles allowed on course.  If conditions are wet, no 4 wheelers, mopeds, scooters, or other non competition management vehicles will be allowed on course.  No camping at horse park - Longview campground is less than 2 miles from horse park.  For information call Jackson County Parks at 816-503-4805 or
