From North: Hwy 101 to 154 approx. 7 miles, left on Baseline at stop sign, an immediate right after church. Follow Baseline to sign on right (approx. 1 mile). Dirt road will take you to stabling.
From South: Hwy 101 to 154 west from Santa Barbara across San Marcos Pass, approx. 25 miles after starting on 154. Turn right on Baseline at stop sign before Shepherd of the Valley Church. Take immediate right to continue on Baseline & follow approx. 1 mi. to sign on right. Dirt road will take you to stabling.

Competition Management: Shepherd Ranch SYVPC Management Committee. Please direct all questions through the secretary.
Entry fee includes a $25 non-refundable office fee. USEA membership and horse registration required at all levels, except Intro. Intro competitors who are not USEA members must pay $25 non-membership with entry. CT riders must be USEA members or pay a $25.00 USEA non-member fee with entry. Preliminary riders, owners, trainers must be current USEF members or pay $30 USEF Show Pass Fee per person. Include proof of current USEF membership with entry for Prelim riders, owners, and trainers with entry.
Complete Entries: An entry is considered complete if it is received, hard copy or Xentry with full payment with all signatures and proof of USEF membership for Prelim riders/owners/trainers.. If payment is not received with entry it is considered incomplete and will not be accepted until payment received.
Entry changes: $40 fee for all changes after closing date. Post Entry/Late Fee: $50 for all entries received after closing date.
Double entries: Not accepted.
Refunds: Before closing date - entry/stabling less $25 non-refundable office fee. After closing date - no refunds. Competition cancellation - no refund. USEA Starter and D&M Fees Refund Policy: The USEA Starter and D&M fees, are not subjected to office fees, and shall be
returned within 30 days of the competition to any rider who does not start the dressage test.
Returned checks: $25 fee on returned checks.
Coggins: Negative Coggins required within 12 months for out-of-state horses. For equine movements into the state, California requires a valid Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI), issued within 30 days before entry, and evidence of a negative Equine Infectious Anemia (EIA) test performed at a USDA-approved laboratory within twelve (12) months before the date of entry. An EIA test "pending" result does not meet the entry requirement.
Preliminary: All preliminary entries must send copy of USEF cards for rider, trainer and owner or pay $30 USEF Show Pass Fee per rider/owner/trainer.
Pre-Show Dressage Schooling Test: Sign up with your entry or email secretary for dressage schooling on Thursday. $30 per test ride. Include payment and test of choice with entry. Space is limited.
Paper pinneys will be used; holders available for sale on grounds for $20 each.
8 ribbons per division with prizes for top 3.
High Point Pony Clubber for each competition level (sign up at show).
High Point Amateur overall (must be declared with USEF and present USEF card at competition, sign up at show).
2017 Champion Junior and Senior Horse/Rider combination combined for both 2017 competitions with $100 cash back (based on placings in the two horse trials combined).
$115/stall from Thursday 9am to Sunday 6pm (early arrivals allowed with secretary approval $25 per additional night). 180 10x10 temporary stalls on grounds. Stall doors & initial bag of shavings provided. Shavings ($10/bag), alfalfa ($25/bale) available through secretary or by pre-order
Non-competing horses: $100 grounds fee (includes Sunday XC school) and additional stall fee.

All courses on groomed tracks over rolling terrain. Preliminary - 2500 m @ 520 mpm. Training - 2200 m @ 450 mpm. Novice - 1900 m @ 400 mpm. Beginner Novice - 1800 m @ 350 mpm, max height 2'7", 14 efforts. Intro - 1400 m @ 300 mpm, height 20-24", 12-14 jumping efforts, water optional. All courses: Average, for horses with some experience at these levels. Studs recommended for all divisions.

Entries Limited to 180 temporary stalls onsite, priority given in order of reciept of entries (complete entries only). Rider levels may be divided/combined as entries warrant; state preferences under the Eligible Section and birth date on entry. Prize list available from secretary.
Food on grounds.
Dogs allowed on leash only, strictly enforced!!! Owners of dogs not on leash must donate $100 to SYVPC Horse Trials.
Thursday Dressage Test of Choice: Ride your choice of dressage test in competition arena before "L" judge for ring exposure and last-minute tips. Times available from 12:30-5pm. $30 per ride. Time slots limited. Sign up with your entry (include payment and test choice) or email [email protected]
Sunday XC Schooling: XC Schooling is available following completion of all divisions for $50 per horse. Arrange through secretary at event.
