Meet the IEL Teams: Go With It Farm’s Area III Young Riders

The mission of the USEA Interscholastic Eventing League (IEL) is to foster team camaraderie and provide a supportive community through which students in 5th through 12th grade can pursue their riding interests with like-minded junior eventers. This sentiment rings especially true at Go With It Farm (GWIF) in Sandy Springs, Georgia, where several of the top competitors from the Area III Young Riders IEL Affiliate have created a strong team atmosphere at their grassroots eventing barn. Founder and Program Director of GWIF, Halliea Milner, has worked with several of the kids on the team for most of their riding career and stresses the importance of teamwork in every aspect of their daily training.

Twelve Area III Champions Crowned at 2022 Area Championships

The Area III Championships kicked off the 2022 USEA Area Championship season June 24-26 at the Stable View Summer H.T. in Aiken, South Carolina. Offering 12 different championship divisions from Intermediate to Beginner Novice, the championships were highly contested as riders from all across Area III put in a gallant effort in hopes of being deemed division champion. The USEA caught up with many of the individual champions to look back on their performances in Aiken that helped them bring home the top prize.

Doug Payne’s Tokyo 2020 Olympic mount Vandiver was also bred and born in Area III in the state of Alabama.

Area III held their annual Area Championships earlier this summer during the Stable View Summer Horse Trials and, as always, the competition was fierce! With championship classes offered in 12 divisions from Beginner Novice to Intermediate, the weekend was full of top-class competition. We caught up with some of the Champions from various divisions to discuss this year’s Area III Championship competition.

2020 Area III Championships Round-Up

It was a busy weekend at the Poplar Place Farm Horse Trials in Hamilton, Georgia as the event hosted 11 different divisions for the Area III Championships. Riders needed to earn one first through fifth-place finish with no cross-country jumping penalties at one event during the qualifying period from May 15, 2019 to September 15, 2020 in order to be eligible to compete.
