June 6-7: Middleburg Horse Trials - Canceled

June 7: Genesee Valley Riding & Driving Club H.T. - Postponed to October 4, 2020

June 12-14: Seneca Valley Pony Club Spring Horse Trials - Canceled
Released April 16

After extensive consideration of our options, the management and organizers of Seneca Valley Pony Club Horse Trials are sad to announce that, because of COVID-19, the Spring Horse Trials scheduled for June 12-14, 2020, will be canceled. This was a very hard decision to make. We are not requesting a rescheduled date, but will instead put all of our efforts into preparing for our September event.

Once the stay-at-home orders are lifted, we are hoping to open Bittersweet Field for cross-country schooling (following any government guidance limiting the number of people at gatherings) twice a week through June and July; details regarding this plans will be posted on our website (senecavalleyponyclub.org) and our Facebook page.

June 12-14: Aspen Farms H.T. - Canceled
Released April 23

To our hardworking volunteers, our loyal sponsors, our enthusiastic competitors, our amazing officials, and our dedicated staff:

Aspen Farms H.T., June 12-14, has been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This was not an easy decision to arrive at, but we feel that it is the right course of action. The welfare and safety of everyone involved in our competition was the deciding factor. Our goal is to take the right amount of time to get past the coronavirus the first time so we can return to the sport we love.

Thank you to everyone that is a part of making our event what it is. We hope you and your families remain healthy during this time and look forward to seeing you out eventing in the near future.

We will focus our efforts towards our September 4-6 competition.

Jonathan and Suzy Elliott

June 13: Woodland Stallion Station H.T. - Canceled

June 13-14: Queeny Park Horse Trials - Canceled

June 13-14: Honey Run Horse Trials - Postponed to July 25-26, 2020

June 14: Valinor Farm Horse Trials - Postponed to August 30, 2020

June 14: Bucks County Horse Park Horse Trials - Canceled

June 19-21: Shepherd Ranch SYVPC Horse Trials - Canceled
Released May 20

With all of the new protocols and changes that have created some uncertainty as we move into this new form of "normal", the Sexton family and the rest of us at the Shepherd Ranch Horse Trials have decided not to run our recognized Horse Trials on June 20-21. We are cautiously optimistic towards putting together a Shepherd Ranch Fundraiser Clinic on that weekend instead.

The cross-country course will be prepped and dressed with flags and numbers, a show jumping course will be set for schooling rounds, and a dressage judge will be available for "Fix a Test" rides. We will plan to be open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for you to come and have an educational weekend to dust off some of the rust.

For more up to date information, please email Kim Goto Miner at [email protected]. Thank you and to all our competitors, staff, and volunteers, please stay healthy, and wash your hands!

June 19-21: Midsouth Pony Club Horse Trials - Canceled

June 21: Kent School Spring Horse Trials - Canceled

June 21: Flora Lea YEH and Mini Event - Canceled

June 25-28: Fox River Valley Pony Club Horse Trials - Canceled
Released May 8

After extensive consideration and cautious optimism, the Organizing Committee of the Fox River Valley Pony Club Horse Trials is sad to announce the cancellation of the FRVPC Horse Trials and CCI2* scheduled for June 25-28, 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Our organizing committee has been closely monitoring federal, state, and local situations as well as regulations and restrictions. We also paid close attention to all FEI and USEF guidance and resources devoted to the safe return to equestrian competition, and discussed extensively what mitigation plans we could put into place to provide a safe experience for all if we were allowed to go forward.

With the health, safety, and welfare of participants and their horses being our utmost priority as well as the recent announcement of Illinois Governor Pritzker’s five-phase reopening plan, it became clear that we will be unable to host the horse trials in June.

Coming together as a community has been the hallmark of our event for 50 years, making it one of the oldest continuous events in the country. This year’s June 2020 event was to be extra special with the celebration of our 50th Anniversary. To our hard-working volunteers, loyal donors, dedicated officials, and enthusiastic competitors, we wish everyone a safe journey through the challenges of this season and look forward to welcoming you to an even more meaningful celebration when the crisis is behind us.

June 26-28: Groton House Farm Horse Trials - Canceled
Released March 30

The situation with the coronavirus definitely seems to be escalating and will not be over soon. This leads to the clear, yet disappointing reality that after 40+ years GHF 2020 will not be able to run this year. This will also include the Spring Two-Phase and the Summer Classic.
We can now focus on getting through this crisis and looking forward to GHF 2021 with renewed energy and enthusiasm! Stay well everyone!

June 26-28: Abbe Ranch Horse Trials - Canceled

June 26-28: Inavale Horse Trials - Canceled

June 27-28: Arrowhead H.T. - Canceled

June 27-28: GMHA June H.T. - Canceled
Released June 3

The State of Vermont continues to prohibit organized competitive sporting events. Furthermore, even for educational events, out-of-state visitors would need to quarantine in Vermont for 14 days. Access to lodging is effectively prohibited to out-of-state visitors until the quarantine period expires. These restrictions will continue until the “regional benchmarks" improve.

So, at a minimum, we’ll have to cancel the Spring Hunter Jumper Show (June 20-21) and the June Horse Trials (June 27-28).

We are working on alternatives to make GMHA accessible to our community as we go forward: educational events and a new configuration of Members' Days that will work with state rules and social distancing guidance (we hope to include additional offerings and access to non-members). More details to come shortly.

As far as July and the rest of the summer, we have chosen to see what is possible rather than decide to cancel at this point. We will take entries, but not money, for July competitions so we can get a straw poll for interest. We are cancelling Junior Horsemanship Camp in August as there really is no way to make that work with social distancing, even if travel prohibitions loosen up.

We would love to hear from you. If you have ideas, send them our way. We have explored video webinars with “GMHA Comes To You!” virtual learning and will expand that next winter. And, we’d love your input for smaller scale educational opportunities that would be workable during the COVID-19 pandemic.

You are the heart of GMHA, and we hope that you keep us in mind if you can’t be here. Come visit when you can. Of course, you can imagine that this is tremendously challenging financially, and we would deeply appreciate if you would consider donating, maybe a portion of your entry fees, or some of what you might have spent on gas coming up here… all of it will go to keeping our wonderful staff on board when we finally can greet you here in person.

Your friends at GMHA

July 3-5: Coconino Summer I H.T. - Canceled
Released June 3

Coconino Summer I and Summer II Horse Trials are cancelled. The County is understandably cautious in its opening procedures which is making it extremely challenging to plan our horse trials. We are, however, looking at several schooling options in later July/August that will give everyone a chance to prepare for our September Horse Trials on September 12-13. We are confident this will give the County the time it needs to prepare practical protocols for larger groups in the County Parks. This has been a hard decision for Alice and it was not made lightly. She has an immense passion for CCHT but the current challenges are just too great to proceed at this time. We will continue to update everyone with future plans!

July 9-11: Western Underground, Inc Coconino Summer HT & T/N/BN3D Event - Canceled
Released June 3

July 11-12: Powder Basin Horse Trials - Canceled
Released May 6

To our hardworking volunteers, our enthusiastic competitors, our amazing officials, and our dedicated staff:

Powder Basin H.T. has been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This was not an easy decision to arrive at, but we feel that it is the right course of action. Our decision is based on an understanding that we share both financial and health concerns and suspect we will not draw sufficient competitors and volunteers to succeed in the manner which we have the past few years. Instead, we will focus our efforts towards an unrecognized event on July 11 -12. More to come as we understand our state and county restrictions.

July 11-12: Huntington Farm Horse Trials - Canceled

July 17-19: Essex Horse Trials - Canceled
Released June 1

The Coronavirus outbreak has forced the cancellation of this year's MARS Essex Horse Trials Country Weekend.

Scheduled for July 18-19 at historic Moorland Farm in Far Hills, New Jersey, the MARS Essex Horse Trials features world-class and up-and-coming riders competing in Advanced and through Beginner Novice divisions. Benefiting the Greater Newark LifeCamp in Pottersville, New Jersey, the event offers a variety of family friendly activities including a classic car show, farm stand, demonstrations, vendors, and the Willow School Children's Activity Center.

"This is disappointing for all of us," said Ralph Jones, President of the MARS Essex Horse Trials. "We considered various ways where we might be able to proceed but none with which we felt completely comfortable. In the end, nothing is more important than the safety and wellbeing of our 300 competitors, 182 volunteers and nearly 5,000 spectators and that is the overriding factor."

"We want to thank MARS Equestrian™, our title sponsor, as well as AIG, Peapack Private Wealth Management, Running S Equine Veterinary Services, RWJ Barnabas Health, and Open Road Auto Group for the continued support and we look forward to welcoming everyone back for a great event at Moorland Farm in 2021!"

Weekend Quick Links: June 6-7, 2020

This is it! The weekend we've all been waiting for is finally here - the return to competition has arrived! After nearly three months of suspended competitions in light of the COVID-19 pandemic that has swept the country and the world, riders are shining up their boots and preparing to trot down the centerline. While our "new normal" will certainly look different than things did before the pandemic, these new regulations are in place for all our safety.

The Fair Hill Organizing Committee (FHOC), an affiliate of the Sport and Entertainment Corporation of Maryland (The Sport Corp.), today announced the inaugural Maryland Five-Star at Fair Hill will take place October 14-17, 2021. Health and safety factors, in addition to other challenges resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, led to a final decision to postpone the international three-day eventing competition originally scheduled for this October at the newly constructed Special Event Zone at Fair Hill Natural Resources Management Area in Cecil County, Maryland.
