Busy Month For IDHSNA USEA Future Event Horse Series

By USEA | August 8, 2012

Looking for a place to take your baby and show him off? Want to know about his potential as an event horse? Want the chance to take home a ribbon? If you are interested in any of these opportunities for yourself and your young horse, then you should consider the IDHSNA USEA Future Event Horse Series.

The FEH program focuses on yearlings, two year-olds, and three year-olds. In FEH shows, competitors are divided up by age, so every entry is fairly rated against horses of similar maturity. Qualified judges judge youngsters on their conformation and gaits, scoring them based on their potential as an event horse.

August is a month chock full of shows in the FEH Series. FEH events coming up this weekend are The Summer Event at Woodside in Woodside, California; the YEH/FEH at Applewood Farm in Califon, New Jersey; and The Ark YEH, FEH, & NEH in Monroe, North Carolina. Other FEH events soon to come include Waredaca Farm HT in Laytonsville, Maryland on the 18th; the Northwest Sport Horse Breeders' Association FEH in Yakima, Washington on the 24th, the Stony Brook Farm YEH, FEH & NEH in Peterborough, New Hampshire on the 25th; and the Cedar Ridge Farm FEH, YEH, & NEH in Athens, Georgia on the 25th.

Following a busy August schedule, Windy Wyoming continues the FEH qualifying season on September 15 in Laramie, WY while Greystone Farm in Brookeville, MD wraps it up on September 23. Now is a perfect time to enter your youngster in the IDHSNA USEA Future Event Horse Series and try to qualify for the three championships taking place this fall which include: East Coast: September 29 at Morven Park in Leesburg, VA; Central: October 11 at Willow Draw in Weatherford, TX; West Coast: October 20 at Ram Tap Horse Trials in Fresno, CA. Remember for the first time FEH horses will need to earn a 68% to qualify for the championships.

Be sure to check event dates and information on the FEH page and get your young eventer’s career started.
