Team USA maintained its gold medal position during an eventful day on Jose Ortelli’s cross-country track at the Pan American Games in Lima, Peru on Saturday, August 3, 2019.

Team USA heads into the critical cross-country phase in high spirits and on solid standing after the dressage phase at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru. All four team riders representing the United States finished inside of the top 10, with Tamra Smith leading the way on Mai Baum in first place, and Boyd Martin just behind her in second aboard Tsetserleg.

A cross-country track full of literal twists and turns awaits riders this coming Saturday at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru. The facility itself is a year-round, permanent equestrian venue, the Army Equitation School of Lima, so the grounds lend themselves well to the CCI3*-S track that course designer Jose Ortelli has crafted.

With eventing at the 2019 Pan American Games in Lima, Peru kicking off in almost exactly four weeks, the U.S. team athletes and horses gathered together for the first time yesterday in The Plains, Virginia to begin their final preparations.
