Welcome to Area IV and the Gateway to the West, St Louis!
We are excited to share our diverse city and roller coaster Midwest weather with you while you enjoy the education, vendors, and friends at the 2023 USEA Annual Meeting & Convention at the Marriott St. Louis Grand Hotel.
Area IV is the heartland of America, and it includes Illinois, Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, and Wisconsin, with a season that spans from May to October and the whole gamut of Midwest weather! Our horse trials include some of the best, and as Area IV has the most states of any Area, there are many choices for great competition. From Otter Creek Horse Trials up north in Wisconsin, hosting three USEA recognized events per competition year, down to St Louis’ Queeny Park Horse Trials, Area IV offers many opportunities from Starter through Intermediate.
Not only does this year’s convention have much to offer everyone with education, discussion, socialization, and the opportunity to hear Dr Temple Grandin speak, but St. Louis is a wonderfully diverse city with much to explore. Close to the hotel is the City Museum, a wonderfully crazy playground for adults! Other nearby neighborhoods to explore for great food, shopping, and nightlife are The Hill (known for its Italian food), the Grove, the Central West End (which is where Forest Park and many museums are located), and the University City Loop.
Be sure to also check out Area IV’s silent auction at the convention on Saturday, as well as all the wonderful vendors and supporters of USEA that will be there.
Bring your sweater and your short sleeves (Don’t like the weather? Wait 20 minutes…!) and plan on having a blast at this year’s convention.
The USEA works all year to put on this amazing event to meet up with friends old and new, discuss ideas and rules, and learn about the sport we love.
Looking forward to seeing everyone there!
