Established in the spring of 2015, the FSU Eventing Team began with one rider and one coach. Since then we have been working hard to grow our team. This past year many of our members graduated, but we are very excited for fall 2018 because we have a string of talented riders coming our way. Our current and future members come from a wide range of riding backgrounds and levels. We welcome everyone, whether they are ready to compete as eventers or just want to learn more about the equestrian world.

My name is Lexie Thacker, president and founder of the Cal Poly Eventing Team. When I first came to San Luis Obispo to attend Cal Poly, I ended up boarding with several eventers who shared my passion for the sport. Back in 2014, we were inspired to start our own eventing team at Cal Poly with the implementation of the Intercollegiate Eventing Program by the USEA. However, due to logistic complications, we were unable to form until the start of 2018. We are now proud to have officially started our team with a fantastic group of hard-working and dedicated riders.

“He was amazing; I can’t thank him enough,” Aubrey Wagner, winner of the CCI* at the Virginia Horse Trials, credited her horse, Clooney MS (Clinton II x Stutbuch). The only horse and rider pair to jump clean in the challenging Coliseum arena in the CCI*. Wagner and her 9-year-old German Sport Horse gelding moved from seventh to first place. It’s their first one-star together and they bring home the blue ribbon for Auburn Orange team at the 2018 USEA Intercollegiate Championship.
