In 1995, Bruce Davidson became the first U.S. rider to win the prestigious Badminton Horse Trials in England. Riding the great Eagle Lion, Davidson finished on his dressage score of 46.6 and added nothing over the entire long format event to finish on the top of the leaderboard. The same year Karen Lende (now O’Connor) finished third on Biko and Phillip Dutton earned the sixth spot on True Blue Girdwood.

It has been 24 years since Wilton Fair was retired from competition and 16 years since the Irish Thoroughbred passed away. However, the legacy of David Lenaburg’s 17.3 hand gelding is still strong.
