Beginner Novice through Preliminary competitors flocked to the first Area II event of the season at Southern Pines I in Raeford, N.C. on March 10 and 11. Good early season courses and picture perfect weather made the weekend enjoyable for riders. Six dressage rings ran efficiently on Saturday for all competitors while Novice and Beginner Novice divisions show jumped and Preliminary and Training divisions ran cross-country. Sunday started bright and early with Preliminary and Training level show jumping and Novice and Beginner Novice cross-country.

Last week some of the best riders in the country gathered at Bridle Creek in Aiken, South Carolina for Training sessions with team coach, Capt. Mark Phillips. Riders who were named to the High Performance Training Lists as well as the Developing riders lists got the chance to have flat or jump lessons with Capt. Phillips. Holly A. Matt of Pegasus Design Group was on site and got a chance to snap a few photos.

The distinctive Animals To Wear clothing that is seen all over events across the U.S. features the artwork of Rebecca Raubacher. Recently Rebecca was the subject of a short film that was filmed on location at Fair Hill International, The Raubacher Gallery, and Winswept Stables in Lewes Delaware. It was featured in the 2011 Dusty Film Festival at The School of Visual Arts in New York City. The film was also chosen by the Rehoboth Beach Film Society to be screened in their Cinema and Art Film Event.
