The long-awaited USEA Ride Share Program is officially here! We all
know that gas prices are at an all-time high, and trailering long
distances to events or other activities doesn’t sound very enticing. In
order to help our members save money, the USEA has launched a “Ride
Share” system.
The format is similar to booking a flight. Just do the following:
Choose whether you can Share a Ride or you Need a Ride.
Enter your name and email address - your email address remains private and secure.
Pick the departure date or dates. You can select a range of dates if you are not certain exactly when you will leave.
“One-way”
trips are an option (for example, you’re selling a horse, or dropping a
horse off in Aiken for the winter. You would only need a “one-way”
ticket). You can add number of passengers and also add comments about
your horse (is your horse a stallion, first-time traveler, extra-wide,
etc.).
Enter the zip codes for where you will depart and arrive.
For “round trips” – Pick the return date (or dates), and then add the number of passengers and comment.
Whether
you are looking for a ride or sharing a ride, just review the listings
for more information and send a request for contact.
This helpful
program is free, open to anyone (not just USEA members), and can be
used for any sort of trip (whether it be to a lesson, clinic, horse
trials, etc.).
NOTE: This new system is in the “testing”
stage, so please let us know how you like it, and if you have any
suggestions on improvement. Please send comments to webmaster@useventing.com.
