Adequan USEA Gold Cup Series

Celebrating its 10th Anniversary, the Adequan USEA Gold Cup has joined forces with the PRO Tour Series to create an exciting format of competition and greater promotion of the sport of eventing. The Adequan USEA Gold Cup will now consist of 11 qualifying competitions at the Advanced Horse Trials and CIC3* levels, with the final at the Nutrena USEA American Eventing Championships, September 26-29 in Tyler, Texas. The $40,000 Adequan Advanced division will serve as the designated division and the winner of the division will be named the 2013 Adequan USEA Gold Cup Champion. The horse and rider pair must complete at least one Gold Cup qualifier to be eligible to compete in the AEC Advanced division and earn the chance to be the keeper of the cup and take home a major chunk of the $40,000.

Gold Cup Final: Nutrena USEA American Eventing Championships $40,000 Adequan Advanced Division | September 26-29 | Tyler, TX

Fabulous Prizes...and Cash!

Winners of each of the 11 Gold Cup events across the country take home a trailer-load of prizes for their achievements. Winners receive $500 in prize money, 7-dose box of Adequan, $200 Point Two Gift Certificate, SmartPak Equine Wellfleet Bridle, a pair of FITS breeches and $350 worth of Nunn Finer Products. Second place finishers also take home a 7-dose box of Adequan and a $100 Point Two Gift Certificate.

The winner of the Adequan USEA Gold Cup Final at the Nutrena USEA American Eventing Championships will take home a large chunk of the $40,000 in prize money, $1,150 in Nunn Finer Products, a Mountain Horse Gold Cup Champion Jacket, and many more prizes from the AEC.

The FEI now recommends that CICs run Show Jumping before Cross-Country in order to greater distinguish a CIC from a CCI. Red Hills Horse Trials in Tallahassee, Florida adapted the new format this year so both dressage and show jumping were held today for the Adequan USEA Gold Cup & PRO Tour CIC3* as well as the CIC2*.With two horses in both the CIC3* and CIC2*, the condensed schedule made for a very busy day for Marilyn Little, but that didn’t stop her from earning the top two spots in the CIC3* and fifth and sixth in the CIC2*.

On March 7 in Tallahassee, Florida, the Red Hills CIC3* will kick off the 2013 Adequan USEA Gold & PRO Tour Series Season. This year is a big one for the Gold Cup as the format has changed to encompass 11 qualifying events with horses and riders earning the opportunity to compete for $40,000 at the year-end final in the Adequan Advanced Division at the Nutrena USEA American Eventing Championships presented by Bit of Britain.

The USEA is delighted to welcome back Fun In The Saddle “FITS” as a sponsor for 2013. FITS will be sponsoring the Nutrena USEA American Eventing Championships for the fourth year, and in addition the company will be sponsoring the Adequan USEA Gold Cup for the first time.

The USEA and PRO are delighted to announce the two organizations are forming a partnership to create greater promotion of the sport by focusing on a joint promotional effort of the Adequan USEA Gold Cup and the PRO Tour Series. During the past few years the two series have been run on separate divisions at the Advanced and CIC3* levels at selected events with PRO including some CCI3* competitions in its series. In 2013, the programs will both run on the same division which will eliminate the need for riders to make a decision as to which division to enter.

Becky Holder rode Tom Holder’s Courageous Comet to three top finishes in the 2012 Adequan USEA Gold Cup Series garnering an impressive 625 points to become the keeper of the cup for 2012. The results contributing to Becky and the 16-year-old Thoroughbred’s  (Comet Shine x Rosenelli) lead included their win at the Nutrena USEA American Eventing Championships, second place at the Richland Park CIC3*, and third place in The Fork Advanced B division.
