The 2017 USEA American Eventing Championships (AEC), presented by Nutrena are just around the corner! This year, the competition returns to the beautiful Tryon International Equestrian Center in Mill Spring, North Carolina. Following last year’s record-setting entry numbers, fabulous entertainment, and plenty of activities for everyone to enjoy, this year will be another AEC you don’t want to miss!

So how do you ensure that you will have a front row seat to all the action? By signing up as a volunteer!

It always helps to see a warm and friendly face when heading to warm up for that all-important test or jump round. In this new series, the United States Evening Association (USEA) is partnering with Athletux to feature those around us who help make these events happen, the volunteers. Without them horse shows and programs could not succeed, and these volunteers go above and beyond to make sure every rider feels comfortable and confident. Do you know a volunteer who should be nominated as Volunteer of the Month? We are looking for our next feature. Email your tips to [email protected].

Each and every event depends on the contribution of dedicated volunteers to be successful, and we are pleased to announce that the USEA’s Volunteer Committee has released a collection of free educational content, including job checklists and training videos, specifically for these important eventing supporters.

The job checklists include comprehensive information about each volunteer position, including scribe, warm-up steward, bit checker, jump crew, and many more. These checklists include details about what to bring on the day, how to check-in upon arrival, tasks that will be performed on the job, and checking out at the end of the day.
